Anyone who watched him throw 2 INTs and 1 TD in his last two games and get pulled in the Oregon game saw he's got a lot to figure out. Saying he's the best QB is a little much after those two games don't you think?
I said arguably the best. Which is not crazy to say. Either way it's Solomon and Kessler in the top 2.

I didn't even mention we still have the reigning national defensive POY either.

Solomon isn't even the best qb in the South.

Solomon: 313-540, 3,793 yards, 58% completion, 28 td's, 9 picks, 130.7 rating

Kessler: 315-452, 3,326 yards, 69.7% completion, 39 td's, 5 picks, 167.1 rating

Solomon did that as a freshman. Is it crazy to say he will only improve those already really good stats in the coming seasons?

Not at all. But he has some more developing to do before we start calling him arguably the best. If he continues to improve, he may very well be the best qb in the PAC by his junior year. The kid has huge upside and early returns on him are favorable.

To be totally fair, absolutely nothing was going right for Zona in the CCG. To say that they pulled Solomon for his play alone is not accurate. I would say that RR made the right call, get the young kid out before he gets hurt.

I agree not much was going right but the kid was wild and couldnt complete passes and this guy is trying to tell me hes the best QB in the Pac South. Getting pulled in one game and throwing more INTs than TDs to end the year just doesn't sound like the best.

I dont think its arguable right now. Kessler put up Heisman numbers last season. Solomon may become something special but to say hes there now is wrong and isn't that what we're talking about?

I never straight up said he was the best. He's one of the best. "Arguably the best" were my words. Again he will only be a sophomore this season. He won 4 straight Nevada state titles at powerhouse Bishop Gorman HS. The kid knows how to win. Yeah he ran into a buzz saw in Oregon, but he also beat Oregon in Eugene. I like his future.

Anyone who watches the PAC realizes Solomon is a future star. He was a redshirt freshman last year and led a basketball school to a South title and a Fiesta Bowl appearance.. Picking UA to finish 4th is foolish.

How is it foolish? You can literally put USC, UCLA, 'Zona and ASU in any position 1-4 and make a strong argument.

As shaver pointed out, you could even slip Utah into the top 4 and it wouldn't be crazy.

First off how good his high school team was means little and being the best team in Nevada isn't hard when you're the one powerhouse in the state who recruits all the top players. Second i'm no big fan of oregon but they had a Oline that was full of injuries in that game. Solomon faced a healthy Oregon team in the conf championship game. He didnt beat them there.

Agree with this.

I have UW finishing last in the North. The Apple Cup will decide the cellar. I also think Cal will surprise, as will OSU. I got OSU 3rd and Cal 4th
WOW!

Is that your final answer or ....

Do some of you think these standings may change prior to the season's opening?

Solomon had nothing to do with Oregons o line. He scored enough points to win against one of the best teams in the country on their turf. How many frosh QBs can say that? My guess is not that much.

I am w/ AZDbacks here.

I like Solomon's game and think he is the man at the qb position in South.

After all, he did win the South as a Freshman.

Folks sleeping on Zona. And why? Because they got beat soundly in the PAC ccg? That's just one game.

I'm not agreeing with him. I think he is probably in the top 3 in the PAC. Kessler is clearly the best

Who knows in South.

Any of the 4 could be the team to come out on top with Utah being a very legit darkhorse.

I am not counting out Cal finishing 3rd. I actually think they are a long shot to finish 2nd behind Ducks.

So what happened in the conference championship game? I know what happened. Oregon could score like they usually do and put pressure on Arizona to keep up and Solomon folded to the point they took him out because he was ineffective.

After the season is over, the answer to the best qb and 1st team PAC will be easy.

Vernon Adams.
