Before everyone starts writing off Oregon. Remember this, basically everyone returns except Mariota.

OD, no body is writing off Oregon except the biggest optimists around because you have what it takes and what no one else has got or likely will have: Uncle Phil. He will always make it happen. That's why so many are so happy when the Ducks fail. The bigger they are, the harder they fall, right? Right now its a great topic since most are celebrating the Ducks latest fall and, especially, MM's departure. Many thought that Uncle might be able to buy, I mean get, another year. Just putting things in perspective.

Ok, I'm watching film on Travis Waller, I like his athletic ability, but he seems like he's got happy feet, doesn't seem to be a smooth passer, but he's salty! I think he's got great upside.

What are others' thoughts on him? Also, what are thoughts on Locke? Is there any intentions of starting him next season or is the plan to let the incoming freshman battle it out with him?

OK, about a month ago, I heard Braxton Miller's name associated with transferring due to the incredible QB play they have from their "2nd/3rd" string QB's. Is the ANY chance he chooses to come to Oregon for 1 year? I ask this because 1. He's a damn good QB 2. Would be nice to have Waller sit (redshirt) 1 year to get better and learn under Miller. Not assuming anything, just haven't heard anything lately.

Brutus filled me in a little and sounds like there's been no real decision yet. Whether he's not sure what to do or hasn't made it public yet. But he's been linked to a few schools if he intends to transfer, Florida St and Oregon being 2 of them.


I'm very optimistic about next year. Yeah, we'll regress at QB, but overall, I like what we have coming back. Offensively, our skill guys minus Mariota are coming back. Need to fill in at some OL spots, could be a bit shaky there. Our defensive backs got a lot of good experience with Olomu out, I think Sesay will be a nice player for us going forward.

I see Armstead has declared for the NFL, we'll need to replace him, sounds like they have their guy in mind.

I think you and I are on the same page with Waller. Physically gifted but nowhere near ready. I don't like his passing game at all. Lockie at best is a fill the gap guy imo. Mahalak is very mature, was at Mariota's side his entire Freshman year, and has played in Oregon's offense while in HS. Also his fam is in with coach Helfrich.

Canton K tore up the All American practices and game. Went from a 4* to a 5*. he is massive and is a freak of athletisism. Another Hawaii guy as well.

He and Buckner will be unstoppable. Canton's motor will prove to be twice that of big Arik Armstead. Oregon was simply a stop on the way to NFL for Arik. Canton is a hungry never stop Poly guy who plays with his hair on fire.

Waller is like a 2x4 in the pocket, stiff as a board and seems jumpy. I also watched some clips of Mahalak and Seth Green. BOTH of whom, looked better than Waller, IMO. Mahalak is a big dude and is faster than Green. Green has a nice arm, but I think by watching the clips, Mahalak is clearly more polished, IMO.

This will be big for our defense. Armstead was good, but I saw him take some plays off. Doesn't seem like he has the motor that Kaumatule has.

Oregon is loaded at WR.

Jalen Brown hasn't even got a mention. At 6'3" 215 he gave Ifo fits on scout team this season... As an 18 year old....

Add 2015 4*s Alex Ofodile and Malike Lovette and the position is the best it has ever been in program history.

Now I see what it feels like to have depth. It is a nice feeling. The rich are getting richer.

Think about this, Oregon and Ohio got extra practices all the way up to January 10th.

Before you know it is spring practice. All these extra reps are huge for the younger players.
