He had ample opportunity here and just couldn't put it together unfortunately. Our DH spot was wide open last year and he couldn't win it.

Per MLB Network insider Jon Heyman, Smith will earn $1.3 million in 2023, but the Mets did not disclose financial terms of the club’s contract settlements.

Good utility guy...can play all 3 OF pos. Also a good base stealer, & nice option to PH.
Plus he didn't cost much for the 1 year deal.
