Although the Mets re-signed Brandon Nimmo to an eight-year, $162 million contract, the Mets are still in play for Kodai Senga, according to our own Michael Mayer. The Mets have been linked to Senga since he announced he would become an MLB free agent at the beginning of the off-season. In...metsmerizedonline.com
Did you happen to catch my post about Rodon on the previous page? The way I look at it is Verlander isn't replacing deGrom because deGrom wasn't really here last season. Walker is gone so let's say Verlander replaces those starts. If Bassit is gone someone needs to replace those starts.

Thoughts?
Yeah that would be amazing.....not holding my breath though.Would love Rodon but he'll likely cost a fortune. I would be intrigued having 2 lefties in the rotation.
I don';t even think Mr. Cohen could afford that contract. Every dollar spent above the highest luxury tax threshold actually costs the team $1.95.
Not sure the Mets are done, but they may have other needs besides the rotation.
As I said, I am impressed with how they tightened up their team.
Pitching staff is complete...bullpen too.
Now only another piece or 2 is needed (DH mainly)

In Praise of Uncle Steve.....and Billy Eppler too.
Mets keep getting better, one signing at a time
Suddenly, the biggest player in baseball isn’t the slugger who hit 62 home runs, or ace pitchers or shortstops -- either the ones like Trea Turner and Xander Bogaerts who have signed big contracts, or the ones like Carlos Correa and Dansby Swanson waiting to sign them. The biggest playerwww.mlb.com
Meh....I didn't want him....plus it was never gonna happen anyway.Well the Correa pipedream was short lived, probably a good thing in terms of long term flexibility/fit for this team.
Also saw how Lindor acted when his other buddy Javy Baez showed up. Combine that with the fact we have Vientos, Baty and Mauricio all trying to squeeze in at third already.Meh....I didn't want him....plus it was never gonna happen anyway.
