Crazy if it gets done.

Would be nice obviously...but I'd still like to see some BP upgrades/additions too.

Sigh, re: Stroman, this is apparently legit, he's claiming it's photoshopped, Marc Carig says it's legit:

Normally I’d be concerned about someone who had a dead arm last postseason, but with the Mets you don’t usually have to worry about the postseason

One thing about playing for a pro sports team in NY, there's never any shortages for headlines, bylines and stories from under the media microscope...

Here are a few good ones to begin the new week.....

Looks like Uncle Stevie is going all out for the upcoming year. The age of a couple of these guys is concerning but when you look at Jacob's age it makes perfect sense to go for it now while he's in his prime and guys like Marte and Sherzer are coming off good years.

In a four-day span, the Mets have reached deals (per sources) totaling $254.5 million in guaranteed money with four free agents: Max Scherzer, Starling Marte, Mark Canha and Eduardo Escobar.
They’re hardly the first team to reel in multiple marquee free agents in the same offseason. Here's a look back at some of MLB’s biggest free-agent splashes, starting with the most recent...

2021-22 Mets: Max Scherzer, Starling Marte, Mark Canha and Eduardo Escobar
Scherzer: 3 years, $130 million (source)
Marte: 4 years, $78 million (source)
Canha: 2 years, $26.5 million (source)
Escobar: 2 years, $20 million (source)

Well, let's pivot to Bryant. Which probably makes more sense, Bryant 3B, Escobar 2B and then whenever Baty is ready for the majors we can shift Bryant to outfield.

Also getting down to crunch time with Ronny Mauricio, have to figure out what our plan is with him. We have short stop locked up with Lindor. Escobar is either 2nd or third and Baty will likely be locked in at 3B. So are we having him change positions and play a utility role? I think he's part of a big trade package (Luis Castillo?).

So just a recap of our current lineup:

RF Canha
CF Marte
LF Nimmo
C McCann
1B Alonso
2B McNeil?
SS Lindor
3B Escobar
DH Dom

Not bad. But have to figure McNeil, Dom and JD are all trade candidates. Baty and Mauricio are knocking at the door. Maybe if we eat some Cano money we could flip him for a reliever or something.
