SAN JOSE, Calif. (AP) -- San Jose Sharks forward Logan Couture will undergo surgery Wednesday for an upper-body injury
General manager Doug Wilson said Tuesday that Couture has been playing with the injury for several weeks and decided to have surgery when it did not respond as hoped.
Wilson said the team will have a better idea after the operation of how much time Couture will miss. There just more than four weeks until the Olympic break. Couture did not make the Canadian team, possibly because of the injury.
Couture has 14 goals and is fourth on the Sharks with 35 points. After going 11 straight games without a goal, Couture recently scored in four straight. That streak was snapped Sunday in Chicago but he still had an assist and the shootout game-winner.
yay!-oooh...
Blake Comeau is out 4 to 6 weeks with a MCL sprain...
This is great news to see. It looked like Vokoun's career could've been in jeopardy. Hopefully this is a step towards him recovering and returning

The Winnipeg Jets will have to continue their winning ways without forward Evander Kane for the next few weeks.
Head coach Paul Maurice announced Tuesday that Kane has developed an infection in his hand and will miss the team's remaining games leading up to the Olympic break.
Kane was hurt on Jan. 7 during a fight with Eric Brewer late in a game against the Tampa Bay Lightning.
The 22-year-old has been on a hot streak of late, tallying four points in the last four games. Through 42 games this season, Kane has 15 goals and 14 assists.
The Jets (25-24-5) have won two straight games, including a 3-1 victory over the Stanley Cup champion Chicago Blackhawks on Sunday. The club is also 6-1 since Maurice took over as head coach.
The Jets have six more games until the Olympic break, which starts on Feb. 9.
