Lets do this!
I love his style of play but another smaller player who really hasn't won one fight since he came up because he is usually fighting the biggest guy on the ice.Manning can also hit and will drop the gloves if necessary.

I don't know about Lindblom but Simmer doesnt really play gritty much anymore and TK is to small to be playing that way all season we need him on the ice not hurt or in the box and Lubi not much of a gritty player.I think with Lindblom, Simmonds, Konecny, and Lyubimov up front and Gudas on the back end there's enough. They're not going to beat the crap out of anyone (except Gudas), but they can all hit. And if it's Morin instead of Myers he'll bring more size/grit as well.
Nah im not talking about fighting because that's a part of the game which has basically disappeared. Im talking about placing hard checks, pushing and shoving when someone is near your goalie, finishing off checks, laying out to block shots on a consistent basis . I dont consider playing offense to be gritty IMO that word is reserved for defensive play. the word usually used for standing in front of the net is called the greasy area then you could put Schenn in that category because he does it also.i guess it depends on your definition of gritty then. gritty to me is winning puck battles in the corners and going to the front of the net, which simmer, TK, and lyubimov all do with regularity and pretty successfully.
if you mean fighting n such, then ya they're short handed a bit there. but at a fight every 3 or so games i'm not going to spend a roster spot on a guy that can fight and be big. especially since most of the 'fights' these days are just guys tackling each other.
also, have you ever been here: http://www.hockeyfights.com/teams/22/fightcard/reg2017
seems like a site up your alley
2-0 for us after 1, but 19 shots against??not counting the near misses.
got to tighten up the defence
2 points for Mason
1 point for the bruins
0 points for the rest of the flyers
What a game from Mason. 45 saves plus I think 6 in the shootout. At least 5 of them in the 'outstanding' category.
This better be a wake up call though. Outshot 47-21....Are you fucking kidding me!?! We're one of the highest volume shooting teams in the Nhl and they had 26 more than us!? Unacceptable.
Mase can't do this every game. I think we were extremely fortunate to get two points.

In all honesty i think probably around 15 of those shots were just peppered in and they were just getting the puck on net but what a game and shootout for Mase.
We played bad and won this one and we dominated the Rags and lost that one so for this week it evened out.
This is true no way Mase plays like that every game nor should he have to. Our team needs more jump from the get go and play a full game once in a while would be helpful also.Still, that's a season low for us with only 21 shots. We had twice that many in each of the last two games. We won the special teams battle, but choked the game away in the 3rd when we should've been melting it away in their defensive zone.
It is nice to see Mason get an injection of confidence, but I still don't think he can continue to stand on his head for us each and every game. I know it's still early, but giving away a point like that to a team tied with us in points right now could haunt us in the end.
Ottawa, Chicago and Nashville will spank us in the next three games if we don't play better.
AWAZ i thought of a player that would be a perfect example of the gritty type player with size that i was trying to explain yesterday. He is right on our bench Ian Laperrier. If Weiss could play that style of game he wouldn't be such a waste.Nah im not talking about fighting because that's a part of the game which has basically disappeared.
