The slow starts continue and Neuvy gives up a soft one also. Not sure what the hell Streit is doing on the second goal against though. It's his fault that we faced the odd man rush, in my opinion.

It's extremely old already, for sure. They told us earlier that we've given up 13 first period goals this season to date. That's tied for most in the Nhl.

So, here's an interesting stat. If we overcome this 0-2 deficit, it will have been the fifth time this season in five opportunities that we've given up (at least) the first two goals and later tied it.

We seriously need to start every game as if we're already down by a couple goals.

Huge win. Fuck Detroit and their puck possession style of play. I love that they haven't won in Philly since the year they swept us in the Finals. At that time I was living in the suburbs of Detroit and turned 13 on the exact day they last won in Philly. I am 32 now...Lol

Our regular time goal scorers VV Lubi and Streit who would've guessed that.
The leaders on the team need to get us out of this 1st period funk its been happening for a few years now.

Justice is served with that shootout win.

We outplayed them for much of the game and then they get an extremely fortunate 5 on 3 via a weak penalty call on Couturier, which led to an easy tap in by Tavares right after we had killed it off. Then Neuvy lets in a very soft goal to Seidenberg from range that appeared to go straight in. No deflection.

Finally got the equalizer late on a power play that remains scorching hot. Again had our chances in OT, especially with Simmonds on the breakaway. Halak outdueled Neuvy in regulation, but Neuvy got a measure of revenge in the shootout by shutting down all three shooters. G finished it off with an all-world shootout goal and maybe Cousins is done getting attempts after his terrible effort that resulted in no shot.

Ghost really had an unreal game and the team defense was a lot better. We're really starting to string together some solid efforts. As much as I hate to give away the point to a division rival, we deserved the two points and we still got them. The goaltending still has to be better. Neuvy can't give up that second goal. He did redeem himself in the shootout however, but that one choke job essentially gave the Isles a free point.

This game really should've been a 1-0 shutout in our favor at worst. Probably more like 2-0.

It's just frustrating right now when you look at our division. Even with three straight wins, we're still only fourth and the two teams behind us have a lot of games in hand. I just watch Pittsburgh lose in OT, which is nice, but our rivals mostly appear to keep winning. We can't gain ground on anyone until we get the opportunity to face them.

It's awesome seeing Gudas playing all out without taking unnecessary penalties. He still gets his hits in, but he doesn't go overboard with them. I think he is giving the young guns drive to be better.

And Konecny, damn, that kid has some hustle to him. I like his outlook on how he treats each game as if it were a tryout, as he said a few days back. The kid is everywhere.

I heard the Simmonds is having a tough time adjusting to his face shield, which may explain a few missed opportunities here and there.

I liked the one announcers from the Philly stations suggestion the other night. He said they should put a up on the score board 2 goals for the other team so the Flyers come out of the gate fired up and start off the game fighting back. Maybe they would put up big numbers every game.

One of our rivals which is the Rags have played almost every game at home. Lets see what happens when they hit the road.
