Looks like tonight's lineup is..

Schenn - Weal - Simmonds (has been a line most of camp, using Weal as a sub for Giroux looks like)
Raffl - Miele - Read
Laughton - Cousins - Weise
Vandevelde - Gordon - Lyubimov

Schultz - Saheim
Provorov - MacDonald
MDZ - Myers

Mason
????

Really want to get a glimpse of this one. It's on TCN in Philly, wonder if i'll be able to find a stream..

Lots of HOPE on the d-side of things. Sanheim, Myers, and Provorov are the three I'm most excited about back there. It'll be fun to see them play with mostly NHL-ers. Nice test for Provorov too, coming off a 28 minute night.

Looks like Stolarz will be the backup tonight. Not sure if they plan on splitting time or if Mase is going the distance.

I like how Provorov appears to be playing in a pairing with the exact guy that he may replace in the starting roster.

If he proves to be better than MacDonald, he basically earns that spot...and at age 19.

So in my readings of twitter n such, the big takeaways were:

1. It was AHL (or less) for the Flyers, vs mostly NHL teams for NYI and NJD
2. Alex Lyon was a beast in the NJD game. Stopped 28 of 29 and was under siege most of the game.
3. Provorov played 28+ minutes.

Well, I glanced at the rosters and the Devils did have 10-12 or so guys with Nhl experience. The other game seemed rather even though, experience-wise. Both teams dressed largely Ahl or Junior type players.

Nice to get a measure of revenge so to speak against the Islanders, if only in the preseason. Wayne Train stays scorching hot (from all of last year) with a pair of goals to send them packing 4-0. To shut them out in return and put up extra goals makes it that much sweeter, even if it doesn't yet count.

Weise gets our first goal of the preseason and Sanheim with a pair of assists too.

listened to the first half of the 1st, then watched the second half of the 1st and the whole 2nd.. the big thing i noticed was Myers. He looked great out there. Taking the body, moving the puck, poised in the offensive zone. I thought he looked great.

Sanhiem might be more aggressively offensive than Ghost haha. Something forwards out there with him will need to be aware of.

Provorov wasn't that noticeable to me, but that's not really a bad thing.

Thought MDZ had a pretty strong game.

Mase and Simmer both looked locked in.

Really liked the Laughton-Cousins-Weise line, every shift they seemed to get the puck in and keep it in the offensive zone.

Also liked Weal's game.

And Schultz left about halfway through the 3rd after trying to come back earlier in the game from an injury. Not sure what it was.

as Mav said, Simmonds had 2, Weise had 1, and Miele had the other. Mase went the distance in net, 24ish save shutout, looked good.

They had 1 PP goal and obviously were perfect on the PK. They killed off a lengthy 5 on 3 in the third, 2+ minutes I think. AMac was instrumental in that, from reading around.

not sure if anyone kept track of Faceoffs last night, but according to twitter Gordon, Weal, Cousins, and Miele dominated the dots.

I'm watching this one via live video feed tonight. Scoreless through one period. We've let the Devils carry much of the play though aside from some late pressure. Stolarz looks solid and Konecny is showing flashes of his speed and skill. He would've had a breakaway if Raffl had fed him a more accurate pass.

Konecny deflects a MacDonald point shot home and then backhands one off the underside of the crossbar from close range all on the same shift. 1-0 Flyers midway through the 2nd period.

Konecny to Raffl in front for the backhand score. Goal and a nice primary assist for Konecny. 2-0 Flyers in Allentown.

Apparent top line of Konecny, Schenn and Raffl putting on a show tonight. 2-0 Flyers through two, but that line could've easily scored a couple more in the middle frame. Stolarz stopped all 11 shots faced and gave way to Lyon midway through the second. He didn't face much as we carried that period though, for the most part.

Flyers win 2-0. So, our split squads went 0-2 with no goals scored and we avenge both losses to the Isles and Devs via shutouts of our own. Four preseason games played and four teams go scoreless...Lol

Konecny could maybe fill a top six role for us and get some power play time on the second unit at this rate. Literally that line of Konecny, Schenn and Raffl could be our second line this season. It sure looks good to me.

MacDonald seems like he is not yet ready for Provorov to take his spot either. Perhaps Manning is the odd man out this time around.

I'd assume that would make the lines as such:

1st: Simmonds/Giroux/Voracek
2nd: Konecny/Schenn/Raffl
3rd: Read/Couturier/Weise
4th: PEB/Gordon/Likely VV or Cousins

Laughton and Weal fall to the bench or the Ahl.

I like that Konecny kid.....
Almost like he knew where to pass it before the person he was passing to knew.
Damn good looking kid, and a much needed upgrade to and line they put him on!!!

I think they'll keep Schenn on the wing. I was shocked they played him at C last night. I would like to see Konecny make the squad though, probably even more than I want Provorov to make the squad.

Simmonds-Giroux-Voracek
Schenn-Couturier-Konecny
Laughton-Cousins-Weise
PEB-Gordon-Raffl

Is at least the players I would like to see on the team. Read as the 13th forward. That'd be a nice squad. Regardless, I'll be pretty upset if Vandevelde takes a spot. He's not a top 12 forward under contract, I don't care that he went to UND.
