Ink is dry on Neuvy's contract.

Signed for two years. 2.5 mill

Twitter is saying they are using him as a bridge to get the young goalies up and running.
Pretty sure I like this. Give Stoli a chance to play next year.

You can't argue with the results over the last two seasons of Mase and Neuvy:

Mase: 40-36-16

Neuvy: 28-17-5

Conclusion: We win a definite higher percentage of games when Neuvy is starting in comparison to Mase.

I'm pretty sure that his overall individual numbers are better too and he obviously has a huge edge in the postseason as well. He's also obviously a lot cheaper of an option than Mase, even at $2.5M per.

Yea, ok.
I'm getting off the net for a few, just had some lifeless putz go off the deep end....
He says if the flyers don't trade Giroux he was pulling for the pens.....
I simply said, "then you weren't much of a fan in the first place, and Giroux is going to be a Flyer next season"
Needless to say I was called everything, up to and including a Detroit Lions fan....to put it nicely....Fuckin loser.

Im on the Neuvy team also, if he would've just played this season like last we'd be set with a solid starter.

That is a lot of money for a fourth liner who doesn't score.

I'm of the opinion that he doesn't have to score though to be a very effective player. Penalty killing, constant energy and checking, cycling the puck in the offensive zone against a top two line. He can do all of this. Any offense he adds is a bonus.

He is known for his penalty killing but since he has been on the team our PK hasn't been in the top half of the league. We got rid of White because we didn't want to pay him that money to play on the 4th line. I hope it works out for us we need a lot of help.

Streit for Val Filppula. Filppula has 1 more year (I think) at 5 million.

Coot did a pretty good job of holding on and holding his own. If he only played that way all the time i would love him but unfortunately for us he will never be that type of player.
So @lasgop8 you are telling me Coots = JVR?:dhd:

This trade smells like it was done for expansion draft purposes. He'll be exposed and, if not taken, I guess a buyout is possible. In the mean time, he'll get to audition for the 2C role.

So what does everyone think of the Streit trade?

Tampa flipped Streit to Pitt for a 4th then also...Lol

Really strange. Basically they just traded 4th's and paid a 7th to unload Filppula.

I guess we use Filppula to attempt to make the playoffs, then probably buy him out unless he lights the world on fire.

This is crazy....so much for doing anything to shake this team up.
