Is it possible to get somebody this draft that is NHL ready?
with Hextall's philosophy on prospects, I doubt we will ever see a draftee start in the NHL. If Provorov at 7 couldn't make it last year, I don't have high hopes for anyone making it. Unless we pick in the top, which would be less than ideal moving forward. Is it possible to get somebody this draft that is NHL ready?
You already know I want a player of that size and with the skill you like I think he fits both of our wishes.Everything I've read said outside of Matthews, Laine, and Puljujarvi there aren't any guys they expect to be NHL ready.
I would think a guy like Gauthier, who is already 6'4 220, would have a chance though. A lot of guys that struggle with the transition, struggle because they're not physically mature enough to handle it. Gauthier already has NHL size so I'd think he could compete for a spot at least.
This is true I lost my mind for a second there.with Hextall's philosophy on prospects, I doubt we will ever see a draftee start in the NHL. Would this team fit under the cap that's a lot of salary just between Webber and Nash. That team would be a VERY good team. Throw in the fact that they get a lottery pick in the next 4 drafts and that team is going to be ridiculous.
Nash.Grabovski.Brown
Foligno.Hanzel.Killorn
Lupul.Bonino.Nash
Comeau.Bolland.Ruutu
Weber.Myers
Martin.Kronwall
Johnson.Orlov
Emelin
Mason
Andersen
That's not a bad team at all.
How about 2 years at 6 million until Gauthier is ready to take that spot. In order for him to accept the short contract we pay a little moreI've always liked Lucic, but the contract would probably concern me. Anything over 3 years and i wouldn't want to go over $5 mil.
From all the articles i've read, it does seem like Hextall is very focused on term for these free agents. Doesn't want to do anything to jeopardize signing the future core when the time comes. I like that.
Short term deals, even at a higher salary, make more sense for where the Flyers are currently, IMO
