Straka sent back to Phantoms. 3 games 2 assists. I though he had speed and decent puck awareness. It looks like Laughton is ready to return so someone had to go. I think he did enough to be o the short list of call ups. This is where the log jam of crappy contracts will hurt. Does Straka have the skill to play on the 2nd or 3rd line? I don't know but I liked having a young guy with speed vs. an older guy with high cap hit not living up to his contract (or anywhere close to it).

from all accounts he showed pretty well for himself. I still don't expect a ton from him, but it sounded like his game was solid. hopefully they can move some pieces at the deadline to open up some roster spots.

though I wonder if guys like him would be better served making a playoff run with the phantoms than playing in garbage games w/ the flyers.

What a dumb article

the only part I agreed w/ was that it's in Hextall's hands. it's on him to sell roster players if he can find value. And I do think selling at the deadline is the right course of action. MDZ is the most intriguing player at this point IMO. He's playing very well and is RFA. Do you resign him or deal him for a big return? Where's the line on 'big return'?

I 100% disagree w/ trying to trade them now, instead of at the deadline though. sure teams are looking, but they're desperately looking at the deadline. that's why there's always like 30 trades at the TDL and there's only a handful total over the first 60 some odd games of the season.

You don't trade guys just to trade them, it's dependent on whether teams are willing to make the right deal - if teams don't want to give up fair market value then you don't make those trades - teams who make trades just to make trades end up being bottom feeders because of it

How bad is Read squeezing his stick these days. He has had so many great chances in the last couple of games and cant buy one.

He had the puck one a 3-1 against the Jets and shoots into the goalies pad. Elevates it a little and no way its saved. He has apparently been playing through an injury.

I think his injury is better now because the last 5 games he has been skating a lot faster than he has been thus getting himself open for point blank chances like the one you referred to. Just hope he gets that scoring touch back now that his ankle seems to be healed.

I read he is supposed to play Thursday. Lost 10 lbs., so who knows.

Trust me, he won't be playing on Thursday - they might as well put him on LTIR and let him get better before even thinking about bringing him back in

No way a guy is coming back this soon after losing 10 pounds

5 wins in the last 6. Do we keep up our stellar play or do we revert back to the team that is inconsistent and wont move our feet? :noidea:

Anything on the trade front. I haven't heard anything in a while.

I expect they will be quite sluggish tomorrow. This team doesn't like breaks.

Maybe third time is the charm(back in November after three wins in a row they had a long break and it hurt them, then three wins in a row before Christmas and then after they lose five in a row) but I agree with you - they're going to need to prove me wrong in this case

42nd click :)

Doing the simulations again:

1st try: 30 clicks
2nd try: 43 clicks
3rd try: 7 clicks
4th try: 25 clicks
5th try: 51 clicks
6th try: 11 clicks
7th try: 35 clicks
8th try: 11 clicks
9th try: 1 click
10th try: 7 clicks

An average of 22.1(round it to 22 I guess) clicks to get the first overall
