OSU wins National Title and Flyers beat Lightning on the same night. We may not hear from Mally for a good week. Congrats!!!

Last night was a great night. I lost my voice and sore from chest bumping my buddy. I watched some of the Flyers game, but I was really dialed in the football game.

OSU recruited me, for Swimming, back in the day. Not claiming this is why they won, but Oregon did not recruit me. Just saying............

No kidding? You were a div 1 swimmer? Did you ever visit the OSU campus in Columbus? It's very nice, but huge. Great partying down on High Street.

D 1. Captain Senior year. My HS coach was an OSU graduate and had them recruit a few of us. I should have taken the recruiting trip but always knew where I wanted to go. My coach was a great coach and we were National Prep School Champions my Freshman year in HS.

Damn these boards are quiet these days. I'll start posting more often now I can focus more on the hockey season. It will be a bummer not seeing the Flyers make the playoffs. Any rumors floating around?

Don't forget being the weakest team in the league. Its just plain embarrassing when someone takes a run at one of your prized rookies and not a single this is done about it. Ask Schultz if he is gonna take a run at another Boston Bruin again and you will get the answer no because McQuaid knows how things work in hockey. Chief needs to go immediately!!!

I like Zepp he has played very well in a small sample hopefully he will be the upgrade we need at backup goalie going forward. Baby steps on the upgrades.

MVP is clearly Voracek IMO. I love Giroux, but Voracek is driving the offense this season.

Also feel like the review of 2 goal 5 point in 29 games Laughton was a little bit sunshine and rainbows considering 6 goal 10 point in 42 games Umberger was trashed so hard. Umberger has a better PPG than Laughton playing on a less offensively talented/focused line.

Don't get me wrong, I like Laughton. And I certainly like him more than Umberger. But I think fans/writers pick favorites/goats early in the year and then stick with it. Just go silent when the favorite is slumping or the goat is on a hot streak. Umberger has actually played quite well over the past few weeks and probably doesn't deserve the hate if Laughton is getting that much praise. (sometimes I don't think including contract situation is fair when comparing players)

Laughton is the rookie of the year, but it's primarily because he doesn't have any competition, not because he's really earned that type of title.

furthermore, I'd rather see Couts slide up to the 2nd line with Simmer and Schenn/Raffl and have Laughton on the 3rd line w/ Read and Umberger. I think Coots has a lot more offensive potential than Laughton does, might as well start putting them in their roles considering the season is pretty much lost.

Actually, considering the last statement, I would kinda like to see Voracek and Giroux split up to see if they can each carry a line. Keep em on the PP together, but see if you cant get a Schenn.Giroux.Simmer and Read.Couturier.Voracek line going or something. Raffl.Laughton.Umberger can see what life is like as the 'shutodwn' line.

Meh I wouldn't split them up - I think they tried that once and it failed - I'll take my chance with the two big guns together, it's not like those guys are going to make the other forwards significantly better - I think the forwards are what they are and you just have to live with it - if the others start scoring more, great, if not, at least you still have the big guns together

Kimmo has been my favorite player for years. At this point, even if cleared, he may be better served to call it a career than play on this team. That being said, he can go out on any terms he wants.
