Anyone think the Oilers would move David Perron for Vinny? There's been talk about the Oilers wanting a number one center in return and while they aren't going to get that for David Perron, Vinny could be a guy the Oilers might be interested in

It'd give Scott Laughton a bigger opportunity and it'd strengthen the wings - you could have a lineup like this:

10-28-93
12-14-57
17-49-24
42-78-36

57 being David Perron and 49 being Scott Laughton - what do you guys think?

I don't think they would do that even with a pick thrown in. Vinny is older, making more and has more years left on his contract. His health has also been an issue. I think the only way to move Vinny would be to make a very lopsided offer that included a decent pick. We would probably still have to eat some cap. I don't think Vinny, A Mac or Umberger can be moved for contract reasons. I hope I am wrong.

Yeah we'll see what happens - I think the Oilers could be dumb enough to do it but it won't be that easy to make a deal

I don't think anyone in the league considers Vinny a number one center anymore but I would do that trade in a minute.

I would "healthy scratch", these 3 stooges and put in guys that actually try,or have a clue as to what they're doing out there.

Maybe the embarrassment would make them quit.Fuck,I would rather the Flyers play with 4 guys, than putting any one of these 3 out there.

NHL Tonight was paying tribute to Pat Quinn last night. Talked about the Flyers' 35 game unbeaten streak. Quite remarkable. Anyone around during that streak?

Just to add to everyone's woes on Vinny and Umberger who need to go ASAP if possible. I do have top say they have been at least semi competitive since Laughton joined that line.

Pretty much this

Matt Read has been a no show this season(isn't competing hard enough either), Vinny/R.J. are who they are, Simmer has played with crappy linemates lately, guys like PEB have a bigger role than they should, and their fourth line is non-existent offensively

With the so-called problems they have on defense, it seems like their forwards aren't getting the job done either

Welcome to the trade rumor mill, Florida Panthers veterans | ProHockeyTalk

I like Sean Bergenheim - Flyers need more depth on the wings and he might help them a bit - and he's on the last year of a deal

I really don't want the Flyers to make those types of moves. I'd rather them just stand pat and ride it out then give up assets for rentals. I assume the Panthers would take 2nd-5th round picks depending on the players there. They won't want to take back Vinny or Umberger, so I don't think that's a good fit trade wise.

I would do it if it was Vinny and a third.

Absolutely, but I think the point for the Panthers would be to clear room for their younger players, Vinny would essentially be taking Sean Bergenheim's spot in the lineup

yep, this. I'm willing to give up an asset to get rid of vinny or umberger, I just think that's what florida is trying to do with their vets too.
