Thought this was an interesting quote:

I am in total agreement with this and it is quite evident that Voracek is a better 5 on 5 player than Gee and not by a little, he happens to be a lot better at creating his own space where as Gee cant do that.

I read that A Mac may have had a set back. He was supposed to practice yesterday but didn't. He apparently has a right knee injury and skated about 4 days ago and hasn't skated since.

I was told that any interest in contingent on the club being able to find takers for at least one of Vincent Lecavalier or R.J. Umberger. Also, Ron Hextall is not willing to part with picks or prospects.

that would be an awful trade. regardless of what they gave up. he's a glorified 3rd line because he's clutch in the playoffs. that doesn't account for his salary.

Agree 100%. The last thing we need is another long contract for big bucks. Umberger has 2 more at $4.6, Vinny 4 more at $4.5 and A Mac 5 at $5.0. Richards has 5 at $5.75. Umberger is killing us but at least that's only 2 more years. Our other 2 are brutal at 4-5 years.

exactly. any contracts over 2 years right now should be avoided IMO. especially for veterans.

Let me start by saying I am glad Richards is gone and have no interest in bringing him back. Having said that, I do think it's clear that the Flyers have a lot of talent at forward, but not necessarily the right mix. If Chief cannot find the right combination of forwards with what he has, I'd be ok with a trade at some point. Not yet though, unless by some stroke of divine intervention Hexy can move Vinny or Umberger in which case the timing will always be good. Then again, considering his first trade looks worse by the day...
