You should get a two month posting ban for this prediction.

heh, they're deep, they're experienced, and they have Hank. They're a well constructed team right now, it's tough to argue.

I'd love to see the jets and/or sens make a run though. that'd be awesome.

Could be another coach available...or maybe a few players:

"But there was a fatigue of a different kind at work as well in L.A., for the fact is the players had become tired of Coach Daryl Sutter.

Slap Shots has been told by two sources that the Kings locked the door to their locker room following a defeat on the road within the last two weeks so that Sutter could not get in and deliver what the players apparently expected to be another in a series of lectures/tirades.

As the tale was told, after Sutter finally tracked down an arena operative to unlock the door, he was greeted by three heavy waste receptacles lined up as barricade to what had become an empty room.

Thus, it would be no stretch to suggest tension between the team and the coach, who led the Kings to those two Cups, was a significant issue as L.A. went down the stretch before their elimination Thursday night in Calgary following a shocking defeat two nights earlier in Edmonton, of all places.

Imagine. Players, for once, engineering a lockout."

heh, that's kinda childish IMO?

but I guess players are in a tough spot when it comes to coaches reaming them out repeatedly, it's not like they can leave or speak out against him in the room. then it just gets worse for that individual.

The Flyers are weighted down on the back end with seven defensemen under contract (minus Chris Pronger’s LTIR status), one more coming (Michael Del Zotto) and a genuine need to promote at least one of three younger, agile prospects for next season.

Seriously, this is what really has to stop. there is not a genuine need to promote one of them. What is the NEED based on? it's not like they've stood out in a handful of NHL games and then got buried in the minors. They're young, they haven't played in the NHL, and they're not rotting in the minors for too long. Two of them haven't left juniors, one left college to tear his ACL shortly after and burn a season, and one has been inconsistent in the AHL. There is no NEED to promote any of them. There is certainly a WANT to promote all of them, but this is how you end up rushing prospects to the NHL. Let them earn a call up. Let them beat out the Nick Shultz's and Nick Grossmann's of the world, don't hand it to them on a silver platter. Dominate the AHL, get their confidence up, then bring them up to the NHL. I have 0 concerns about Morin, Ghost, Sanheim, and Hagg all playing for the Phantoms next year.

How I took that is the writer was basing the "need" more on how our D played this year rather than a "need" meaning they are being held back from advancing to the NHL.

Agreed

I think for short term success, it would be important for one of them to make a huge impact, but it's definitely not about short term success whatsoever

Going on the record here to say that Tampa wins the Cup this year. If Kane gets healthy then Chicago has a chance, but otherwise I just don't think any team is close enough to Tampa.

Don't like the Rangers down the middle. Let's see how they do this year when they should be playing starting goalies instead of Emery and Tokarski

This is what I'm thinking, but Tampa still has a lot to prove, they need to make a deeper run with this group this time around - they can do it but they have to show it first

Stamkos/Johnson, Hedman, and Bishop. I love that center depth along with the 1D and 1G. They do have to prove it, but I just can't see how they flop unless they face some serious injuries. Hell, last year they had Lindback playing with Bishop hurt.

Hopefully they're out 1st round though since we have their 1st

So I guess you'll be waiting for the 2nd round for that part? :dhd:

I will enjoy every second of waiting, too. Don't want the Rangers to go far but I can't wait to see the Penguins get destroyed

I'll be shocked if they DON'T get swept. They're not a great team anymore, and they're really not playing well at all.

Should we get cracking on a 2016 thread instead of continuing this one? What do you guys think?
