Top Notch
Jalopy and TrustmeImright, you guys dont have to agree with me, but I'll stand by my arguement. I like Evans or Watkins at 10.
____________________________________________________________________________________When he has averaged 1700 yards and 11 touchdowns while drawing double and triple teams all game long -- He is absolutely worth every penny.
Johnson opens up the offense for everyone else. Teams drop their safeties 20 yards off the line of scrimmage because of CJ, which opens up the running game and gives the RB room to catch the ball in open space out of the backfield.
He demands a double team basically every play, meaning the other WRs are facing single coverage all game long.
He makes it easier on the OL, because teams are only putting 7 in the box, so they aren't facing a ton of blitzes or teams stacking the line of scrimmage.
If there is any player on the Lions who has earned every penny he was signed for -- it is Calvin Johnson. Until his production drops, which by the way, the last 3 years were his 3 best seasons, he has earned every last cent.
I'll bet you anything Cooks isn't available for the Lions in round 2 if they hold their pick.
Too bad the Lions #2 #3 #4 and #5 WR's haven't benefitted from all that you stated over the last 2 yrs. from a statistical standpoint.
I'll bet you anything Cooks isn't available for the Lions in round 2 if they hold their pick.
Obviously I'm not betting anything, as this is the internet.
If it's on the internet, then it's true.
If it's stated on this FORUM, then you know it's truth............

DeSean Jackson is very similar to Cooks and he is/has been Philly's #1 for what 4 yrs. now
Actually -- I looked up to see where he was drafted in the Walter Football mocks and I got a good laugh. Guess who they had the Lions drafting in round 2? Cooks. LOL. They did have him going 38th overall in one of them though.
That is funny. This is pre combine though. Cooks just ran a 4.3 flat, faster than Tavon Austin who was at 4.35.
I just think it's crazy that there was 3 guards and a center taken in the 1st round, and Warford was a lot better than all of them...
Jalopy,
Nobody is saying draft someone just because of combine numbers. Obviously, we have to consider their production and things like that. The combine is an opportunity for a player to prove their worth.
