Id be buying a Clowney jersey right quick if it happens!

I know we could use a playmaker like Watkins, but damn could u imagine a D-line of Ansah, Suh, Fairley, and Clowney??

If they got Clowney, they better dominate every game up front. No excuses. But if Clowney slips, I dont want him because that means its a huge red flag somewhere.

^^True story.

For me, watching Clowney this year, it seems he was just going through the motions. It seemed as if he really didn't wanna be there and was just biding his time. Doesn't say much for his character when the team should come first, but we know that's not always the case.

My $.02:

1) don't want clowney- character issues on a team like the lions could be very bad
2) watkins would be great but is WR really our greatest need
3) would love khalil mack or anthony barr. mack seems the safer pick with barr having a higher ceiling. i would prefer the better cover man of the two
3a) i like mosley in the middle but am always skeptical of someone surrounded by so much talent. seems like the type of leader the lions could use
4) pick up a #2 WR in free agency. perhaps someone like golden tate. receivers should be dying to play opposite CJ.

Wasn't that long ago I sat there waitin', hopin', dreamin' NERF would drop all the way to us. I could do it all over for Clowney. (South Cackalacky was my pick for the NC going into the year. That pick didn't last long...... Right 68?). Teams would be in double tight all day against a freakshow line like that.

Rob Base, you're trying to be arguementive. Lol.

It's not the same situation for Watkins for me. Cloney has been clasisified a the #1 prospect for several yeas now and is a beast at a premium position-one that usually always trumps the WR position. Watkins is a top 10 prospect, but not nessecarily a beast like a J. Jones or CJ. His abilities are rare though and he is a game-changer. As it stands, it would be very odd to see Clowney drop out of the top ten moreso than Watkins. Especially considering the teams in the top 9. I wouldnt see a red flag if Watkins fell to 9, I would think the others teams went for premium positions.

And yes, I would expect the Lions to dominate if they got him.

Id like to see Golden Tate get fucked up tommorrow. Hate that guy.

I guess his price tag would concern me more than your lack of affinity for him. A big game tomorrow and he could price himself out of the market. He has the work ethic and talent to contribute.

Tate is an unknown. Russell Wilson is a system QB and has not had to air it out to be effective. So Tate IMO has been under utilized in Seattle. But that may hide the fact he hasn't lived up to his draft billing.

The Lions have a limited amount of cash to spend I think they utilize it to upgrade their bench guys before they shoot the budget getting one guy. A 4-5 million dollar a year player may be about all the Lions could afford and thats after cuts and some restructuring. They still need a pool for the draft.

I don't know jd, he had a pretty good numbers this year. He's not a #1 but may want to get paid like one. I just think FA might be the better route to go for a #2 WR and brought up Tate's name as an example. My main point was I would rather see the team draft defense (LB,CB) with the first two draft picks .

I really want to see Detroit draft Barr or Mack in the first. And get the #2 guy in the second or third. Beckham, Robinson, Matthews, and a few other could go in the 3rd depending on how the draft shakes out.

If the Lions do go FA for WR I would not be disappointed it is the one position they need help right away at. The Lions are a playoff team this year if they had a good #2 imo.

I think Barr might still be there but I doubt Mack will. I think we will get a better idea after the combine but I would expect 3 QB's, Clowney, 2OT's and 1 WR to be taken in the top 9

I really want the Lions to pick up DRC, draft Watkins in the first and defense the rest of the way. I'll take a second round LB or saftey.

I believe this would be the ideal offseason if it played out.

By the time the draft rolls around I would not be surprised to see Evans or Lee as the best rated WR.

Watkins looks good as a Percy Harvin type slot guy and I would love to see him go 10 but as pure Wideouts I see Lee and Evans getting more love.

Robert Woods helped Lee overcome the USC WR tag so that is going in his favor as well.
