Is JDW here on SportsHoopla? Definitely one of the best Tigers/Lions poster there was back on CBS. And BP is most definitely a pass catching TE. He's just not great at the catching part.

Thanks guys glad so many have came over! I signed up quickly at Sportshoopla but didn't post right away.

The Lions draft was definitely a two part story! The first three picks I can't argue much with. Position of need with some very good players. Yes I like B. Mingo better but not for the 4-3! I like Banks better than Slay but you can't teach speed. Jones better than Warford but you can't argue the success he had against top SEC players!

But that when the wheels came off for me! Detroit passed on some real quality guys! I liked Swope but the fact they took a punter is what bothers me when there where still good wideouts available even if it wasn't Swope. The DE from South Carolina has potential but it sure seems they passed on some really good players. Poyer for one. I like the WMU QB a little like Dan Lefevre at CMU but a punter when some good backup QBs available as well. Hill is getting near the end of his Lions run especially with what the salary cap looks like.

I would have liked to have seen some more big time guys with proven track records in 4-7. Thats my take on the draft...definitely a two part story where the second half didn't match the first half.

With that being said I am impressed so far with a few of the UDFA but thats a different topic!
