He's still a fantasy beast though with close to 50 goals, 72 points (half on the power play), plus approaching 400 shots and 200 hits.

anybody think in the back of their minds, the flyers want to play the penguins in the 1st round, thus the lackluster game last night?

Not really. With the way Detroit is bouncing back, the chances of us being the first wild card are damn near close to zero. We'd have Boston in round one if we let Columbus by us. That's why the game meant so fucking much.

And if I'm Pittsburgh, I'd be very worried about playing Detroit too.

Interesting. On the other hand, if they're not careful they could end up getting swept by the Bruins in round 1, sending Gee to the golf course that much sooner. :gaah::lol:

to be honest.. i think i would rather play the bruins than the rangers. call me crazy for sure, but the flyers just cant seem to beat the rangers. (plus i think a bruins series would be more exciting)

It's all in their heads. If we can beat teams like Pittsburgh, Boston and St. Louis, we sure as fuck can beat Columbus and New York. I definitely think we could hang with Boston for awhile, but we'd probably lose that series still. In another year or two we may be the better team, but not quite yet.

heh, it's certainly in my head. i think they can beat the blue jackets, they just didn't play well last night.. but i definitely worry about the rangers. moreso than any other team probably.. western conference included

If Steve Downie is ready to play tomorrow I hope he's in - every time Tye McGinn is in the lineup they struggle - he has no chemistry with anybody - it's ironic that when Steve Downie got hurt that's when they started struggling - it's caused some changes to the lines and it's hurt them

especially because we all consider downie worthless haha.. but coots and read have looked real tame offensively without him.. raffl is still doin his thing, but his linemates just dont generate much

This sounds nice and all, but then I think back at how terrible Downie looked in the half dozen games or so before he went back on the injured list and it makes zero sense.

In all of the call ups McGinn has had with the big club i think this is his worst. he hasnt done any of the things that has got him a shot to play with this team. He hasnt checked anyone he hasnt scored he hasnt created scoring chances and hasnt mixed it up with anyone I say Downie plays if hes ready.

Tk god the Jackets lost tonight.

With four seconds left in the game I believe. Uh, that's a HUGE windfall for us and an enormous 1-2 points lost for them. It takes the heat off of us in Boston because we don't necessarily HAVE to win that game. We will however need to stay ahead or tied with Columbus to beat them in.
