On paper Atleti should get by them but they seemed very capable of playing for the result in the group stage.I don't like Leverkusen's chances, but that's why they play the games.

Saw this earlier but I also read that it was a hoax. You gotta be kidding me...
The Chapecoense soccer club, already reeling from the horrific plane crash that claimed most of the members of its team, has been dealt another insulting blow.
According to the Mirror UK, the Brazilian team has been fined roughly $40,000 (Can.) along with opponent Atletico Mineiro for missing the final game of the season.
Chapecoense had 19 players perish in a plane crash that killed 71 people on Nov. 28. The plane was carrying players, staff and journalists when it went down near Medellin, Colombia. The team was en route to play the Copa Sudamericana final against Atletico Nacional.
The plane crash has also devastated the team’s home city of Chapeco, Brazil. The entire community has been in mourning since the tragedy occurred.

Also on this note, Vilarreal just smashed Atleti 3-0.On paper Atleti should get by them but they seemed very capable of playing for the result in the group stage.
They did just fine in the Montreal game after the Grey Cup but it is worth noting the BMO pitch looked horrific on Saturday.
Giovinco blames BMO's other tenant for poor play at home
I have no idea if that's possible, but he's catching a lot of stick for his comments. To be fair, Altidore made a similar comment.Did Giovinco actually say the TFC turf on Saturday gave him cramps? I mean, I'm no trainer or health care professional (my wife is though) so I'm going to run this by her and get her opinion.

The fact of the matter is football is usually played on turf for a reason.
Well, to be fair to both players, that turf was likely a semi-frozen chewed up mess for both teams and it's too bad because it certainly impacted the quality of play. Maybe one day MLS will play their championship game in early November and likely avoid this kind of scenario again.
I just read he was a CFL'er and made the biggest stink about this (saw at least 3 tweets on the subject). Wasn't aware he was bad even by CFL standards.
