I know it was League Cup action, but we had my dad's funeral on Wednesday of this week and that was the day Southampton beat Arsenal 2-nil. I'm pretty sure he enjoyed that result.

Shit. Sorry man. That's awful.

Thanks BBB, my dad's out of pain now and it's tough that he's gone, but he had a pretty good life all told. My biggest worry is my mom now, she'll be 86 on Tuesday and needs full time home care (that was my dad's role), so that's going to be a big change.

Kun Aguero suspended 4 games for trying to destroy David Luiz' kneecaps. He will miss City's home game to Arsenal in 2 weeks.

If it were on the Eastern seaboard I'm sure Toronto fans would travel. I'm not sure how many seats got allocated for Seattle fans (I know a bunch of season ticket holders were thrown out of their seats and moved to the shitty seats for them & sponsors etc.) but I'm guessing there won't be more than a handful of them, either.

and if it were on the west coast? ... say in San jose? 2500 tfc fans travel? at most?

point i was making is neutrals still dont care about a final game that the mls wants to prop up as a sort of superbowl for their league and thats a problem

Maybe I worded it poorly but I was making the same point - if the expense isn't too bad the diehards will follow but very few are planning their lives around the event and I doubt many if any neutrals give much a damn.

Arsenal's in some deep shit with Alexis Sanchez - he apparently has a 450,000 euro/wk offer to play in China on the table and only one year left on his deal with the team. Arsenal can probably pay at most half that amount and one of the continent's richer clubs (PSG and Juve are rumoured to be interested) can probably pay a bit more.

The Chinese takeover of football is in full swing.
