All of it. Lonzo would be out in the streets...

... so would 95+% of NBA players, in fairness... even with Jesus being out of game shape.

Just about everyone not named Steph Curry would be out in the streets.

Yep.

Shot is the last thing to go.

Last week, KG had Sheryl Swoopes on area 21 and she was draining jumper, after jumper, after jumper from the corner.

Sad that she couldn't harness her ego to teach others.

But, Ray seems like he has the perfect temperament to help some of these guys.

Donovan Mitchell for Utah looks pretty solid.

Current PER leaders among qualified rookies...

https://SportsHoopla.com/yczuwtkq

Bell and Simmons leading the pack. Bell obviously is a bit of an asterisk since he's only played 97 minutes.

Not terribly surprising that the bigger players are at the top of the list.

I was surprised to see Collins stat line was that good.

Since his team is a shitshow, he doesn't get a ton of recognition.

But, he has been solid and consistent....

Here's another one. Rookie DBPM..

https://SportsHoopla.com/yd96b5de

Daniel Thies leading the pack as a bench player for the Celtics. I'm thinking that the team philosophy is helping Thies' number here.

Not surprising that Simmons at the top.

Lonzo Ball deserves some high praise for having such a quality defensive rating. He may be struggling as a shooter which is really dragging him down but his defensive player has been really good.

There should be an NBA Sophomores Thread so that 76ers fans can gush about Embiid and complain about how it was the biggest mistake ever to give Brogdon the ROY over him.

Who is he standing out? He's 6th among rookies if DBPM. He's 5th in PER. 8th in BPM. 13th in usage rate. He is leading in WS.

He's playing well and certainly one of the better rookies so far. But not sure I agree with you that he is standing out beyond that.

Oh and almost all of the other rookies are within a year of Tatum. Simmons is 2 years. The only guy is more than 2 except for a couple of the odd balls like Jordan Bell, Mike James and Dan Thiels. Malik Monk is the same age. Fultz is as well if he ever gets on the court.

Simmons takes 40% more shots per game. He cant shoot 3's and is 60% FT. I dont mean to dis him to sell you on Tatum but when you look at the whole, if Tatum had as much usage and was a year or two out of college I think you would see just how smooth he is, and he can ISO and take money shots.

And Tatum is playing on one of the 3 or 4 best teams in basketball that are playing extremely well right now. And maybe Tatum will continue to be a 48% shooting from the 3 point line but I doubt it. Tatum is the 4th option on that team so he gets lots of open looks. Simmons is the primary ball handler and expected to be a primary scorer.

But regardless of that, my point wasn't that Simmons is or is not better. My point is that your claim that Tatum stands out seemed odd.

Celtics line-up has been in flux since the opening minutes of the season... Hayward, Horford, Irving and Morris all missing time.

Tatum hasn't been open or an after-thought... not in the games I've seen. He's had to step right in and be a key contributor... offense and defense.

Simmons is very good, no doubt.

I'm not trying to diminish Tatum. He's been impressive so much.

I was responding to Logic Man's attempts to portray Tatum's performance as being somehow better because kinda random qualifiers. And the whole "He's younger so it is more impressive" thing really doesn't do much for me. They are both rookies learning the pro game.

If they both continue to play the way they are playing they are going to be really really good players. That's all that ultimately matters.
