Bands like Bad Company and Styx should have been in a while ago. I know the "corporate rock" can be polarizing, but these groups owned the airwaves from the late 70's until the 80's truly kicked in. Even REO, who totally owned 81, and unfortunately after that couldn't get out of their own way.

I loved REO in 81 and fortunately could fight that feeling.

Care to elaborate? Keep in mind I was a late blooming 16 yr old.
Oh it was just the use of the lyric, it tickled me. The Hi Infidelity album was a huge album for them, and that is the album you are referencing if my math is correct. I think " You can tune a piano but you can't tune a fish" was better, but the bubble gum always sells.

My first real exposure to REO was High Infidelity.
1981 was a huge year for me, just an incredible summer between freshman and sophomore years of High school. It was the year my grandfather died, the year my wife's brother and best friend died, my father died. It was the year I started drinking. It was the year I grew my mustache...and it was the year I started chasing my best friends sister (Forever RIP Ginger)...and other girls.

And you couldn't turn around without hearing REO Speedwagon. A chick band I thought. Take it on the Run, Keep on Loving You, Take it on the Run, In Your Letter, Take it on the Run, Take it on the Run, Take it on the Run...I fucking hated them by June.

Then in 1995 I saw Peter Frampton (He fuckin Rocked) REO Speedwagon (They Fuckin Rocked) and Foreigner (The headliner stunk it up so bad REO came back out).

This song changed it for me and I still, 30 years later get goose bumps when this song comes on.

I was 9 years back from Nam, married w/two daughters and a son about be down loaded.

I can remember when we got free USO tickets to Led Zepplin at Berkley, Rolling Stones at LA Coliseum and one of the best concerts ever by
the guy who opened the concert.

I swear the posters everywhere were like this:

JOAN
BAEZ

ELTON JOHN

So true but they went from bubblegum to pure sap after hi infidelity and I always thought that was a shame. If anything, they should have gone back to "You can Tune....".

The Ford dealer service sucks in my town.
I drive 40 miles to Columbus to get my oil changed.
I went to a "mechanic" in Lagrange and the kid put dirty water in the window washer fluid.
I went to a mechanic I trust here and the kid put the wrong oil in my truck.
I have a twin turbo engine that runs klike a raped ape. I get the service at the dealer because these turbos are sensitive.
My truck will outlast mre if some dumbass doesnot fuck up the turbos or the timing chains......
Unfortunate to hear you can't even trust a dealership. Any new or decent cars I had, I always took to the dealership. We always took our Lexus to the dealership in Tacoma. They were fantastic. Great customer service. If they had to keep the for whatever reason we got a free Lexus loaner. We sold it to a friend with over 180,000 miles on it. She drove it over 200k before she sold it. Never had to do any major work on it.

Living in Thailand now we have a Ford Everest SUV. Not available in the states. We take it to the dealer for everything. Had a squirrel crawl in, have babies and die in the air conditioning vents. The smell was terrible. I couldn't figure out where that smell was coming from. Once the dealer figured it out, they cleaned and replaced everything. Had to take the dash off... they somehow blamed it on a damaged housing that got it covered under the warranty. We take it in for all the oil changes and any other service. Sure it helped we got a few free oil changes for buying it there. But we'd take it there regardless. Plus it's too damn hot for me to do even a basic oil change.

So the only band on the list I’m very familiar with is Bad Company. They were called the best garage band of all time. Early 70,s before I went in the Army, one of the hottest sounds at the kegger was “can’t get enough of your love”
Hmm I thought for sure Joe Cocker would be one you were familiar with

I was long out of diapers. I was three living in Beaufort SC because my dad worked the J79 GE Jet engines in the F4's at Marine Corps Air Station Beaufort.
I was picking out big winged Dodge Daytona's for my mother to drive. She was partial to an MG though, while my dad had a used 59 Cadillac.
He was transferred back to Lynn in '71.
