Bands like Bad Company and Styx should have been in a while ago. I know the "corporate rock" can be polarizing, but these groups owned the airwaves from the late 70's until the 80's truly kicked in. Even REO, who totally owned 81, and unfortunately after that couldn't get out of their own way.

I loved REO in 81 and fortunately could fight that feeling.

Care to elaborate? Keep in mind I was a late blooming 16 yr old.
Oh it was just the use of the lyric, it tickled me. The Hi Infidelity album was a huge album for them, and that is the album you are referencing if my math is correct. I think " You can tune a piano but you can't tune a fish" was better, but the bubble gum always sells.

My first real exposure to REO was High Infidelity.
1981 was a huge year for me, just an incredible summer between freshman and sophomore years of High school. It was the year my grandfather died, the year my wife's brother and best friend died, my father died. It was the year I started drinking. It was the year I grew my mustache...and it was the year I started chasing my best friends sister (Forever RIP Ginger)...and other girls.

And you couldn't turn around without hearing REO Speedwagon. A chick band I thought. Take it on the Run, Keep on Loving You, Take it on the Run, In Your Letter, Take it on the Run, Take it on the Run, Take it on the Run...I fucking hated them by June.

Then in 1995 I saw Peter Frampton (He fuckin Rocked) REO Speedwagon (They Fuckin Rocked) and Foreigner (The headliner stunk it up so bad REO came back out).

This song changed it for me and I still, 30 years later get goose bumps when this song comes on.

1981 and you were teeny boppers???

I was 9 years back from Nam, married w/two daughters and a son about be down loaded.

I can remember when we got free USO tickets to Led Zepplin at Berkley, Rolling Stones at LA Coliseum and one of the best concerts ever by
the guy who opened the concert.

I swear the posters everywhere were like this:

BAEZ

ELTON JOHN

So true but they went from bubblegum to pure sap after hi infidelity and I always thought that was a shame. If anything, they should have gone back to "You can Tune....".
