Monday the 23rd I finally get my long - awaited hip replacement syrgery.
It has been a long year and walking has become extremely painful, as is sitting and sleeping.
I'm looking forward to starting next year without being a f'ing cripple!
I am in very good condition healthwise and my fishing boat, tractor, chain saws, etc are waiting.
I'm also looking forward to travelling again. Time to spoil my grand kids!
Friend of mine was just told that both of his hips are bone to bone and must be replaced.

""Caveat""...................No nicotine for two months before the first one. He smokes two packs of Parliments a day.

Southie, I wish you zero pain and a speedy recovery. I'll say a prayer or two for you.

My family lives on NC and Mn. I’m craving a few drinks but alcohol and opiates don’t mix.
I’m getting around the house day 3. The pain is no longer sharp like getting stabbed in the hip. Feels like somebody has been taking sacks with a baseball bat. Feels more like a “Charley horse”

I saw this 6 Cylinder twin turbo Cadillac the other day, looked great wondering if they are made worth a damn anymore?
I have a six cylinder twin turbo ford f150. It is great! Grear mileage and very strong pulling power.
Not a caddy fan but I would not worry about the turbo?

Yeah I have to do some extensive research on reliability, repair cost, etc... Really I am just curious

My daughter has a 4 banger turbo Caddy. Sweet little ride. 6 spd manual.
I have a twin turbo 6 in my SHO Taurus and it will fly when you kick it down, but that little ATS Caddy is just a blast to drive even if it is down 75 HP. Great MPG to boot.
But to the point, it has almost 140k and has been rock solid since it's been in the family, about a year and a half now. I am a Ford/Lincoln guy, GM product left me walking so often when I was young, but I tell you, I really like it even though it's 11 years old now.

With Turbo's...
Synthetic oil and change it on time.
High quality fuel and run the premium.
Don't accelerate rapidly until it is good and warm.
If you have been using the boost at all, let it cool down before you shut it down so the oil won't coke up on the turbo bearings, they spin at about 100,000 rpm under full boost.

My Outback 2.4 liter has a turbo and I am always on point with all maintenance done at the dealership. With today's cars I feel the best option is the dealership service. But I do love the turbo in that Subaru it takes people by surprise when the see an Outback running with them

I have used alcohol in the past when tapering off the oxy. It does help but should not be recommended?
We had a psalm in Vietnam........"Pain is God's way of letting you know that you're not dead yet. Pain is a blessing."
