I got a job washing dishes at Trapp Family Lodge in Stowe VT.
Yes, the "Sound of Music Von Trapps"
There was 19 people working the kitchen between cooks, chefs, bus boys and dishwaher.
18 were gay.

The 19th one never went back for day 2 or even to get his paycheck.
That's a great experience. Must be wonderful for everybody to be so "happy"

Trapp Family Lodge in Stowe VT.
When I was doing loss control for Commercial Union Insurance, the Lodge was one of my clients.

I had to spend a day and half at the lodge inspecting everything from the sprinkler system to the kitchen drains.

I always got put in a suite and the food was 5 Star. Never had anyone complain about working there, but the management could be pretty nasty when things weren't going their way. They sucked at resolving my recommendations.

Those that complained were taken out back and severely beaten until their attitude changed.

No seriously, that was back in the 80's. Vermonters didn't complain about anything except black flies or not having a job.

Back surgery finally scheduled. Jan 5th.
My Christmas present for this year.
Recovery will be rough but I'm looking forward to being productive again.....

Sorry to hear you gotta go through surgery.

I broke my fibula in two places in a motorcycle crash three months ago and I'm still fucked. I was given a choice and opted to not do surgery and let it heal in due time on it's own . Finally got my cast off last week but am still on crutches. Hoping I'm told soon that I can get back to walking but I'm told even after that it'll be a while before I can go full throttle.

I'm an avid hiker and martial artist and I also play a lot of baseball and football with my kid so the past three months have been a serious buzz kill.

I wish you the best. Getting laid up by an injury that's healing reminds you to enjoy the good times and take care of yourself.
