Wow, I reread what I wrote...rushing because I was at work.
His girlfriends mom has been wheel chair bound for 30 years.
LMAO! I didn't pin you as having a kid in his 50's or 60's but figured "ok".

Get well soon!I broke my fucking fibula in a motorcycle crash about a month ago. I've been in a cast and on crutches. I get x-rays tomorrow to see if the cast can get replaced with a walking boot(God, I hope so).
I've been relegated to banging the misses and hopping around on one leg for exercise. I've had to go on a really strict diet which includes a significant decrease in alcohol consumption to keep as healthy as possible with minimal exercise options at my disposal.
I miss hiking, biking, and playing ball with my kid terribly. I will never take having two working legs for granted again.
I guess your son isn't the good guy we thought.Wow, I reread what I wrote...rushing because I was at work.

They have you sit on, for a better term gel pack. They measure the distance between the two indentations.I sat on my bike a while back and the seat that used to be comfortable now hurt.
I was unaware of "sit bones" I knew they were there but didn't know there was a science to this.
How do they measure your sit bones? Sounds lika a job for a proctologist or a gay person.
Do they do this at a doctors office, a bike shop or a gay bar?
That's quite a ride. I took up biking a couple years ago. Did a 50 miler last year on my 45 yr old Fuji, then 100K (62 miles) on a new Specialized. The 100K was a bit of a breeze due to the bike upgrade. The right clothing makes a difference despite others judging them as "faggy". Moisture in the crack (or anywhere) leads to irritation and the chamois whisks it away. It easy enough to wear a light outer shorts for anyone uncomfortable with the bike shorts look. BUT, those shorts serve a purpose. They have you sit on, for a better term gel pack. They measure the distance between the two indentations.
As I mentioned I ride almost pain free. Beside biking shorts, the new seat, I also use butt cream on long rides. OK the real name is Chamios if I spelt it correctly? Getting ready for an 800km + over 7 day ride in January.
I'd say if you were tired and worked up a sweat then you met your goal. Confusing expectations with goals can lead to either being frustration with progress, or injury. The most important thing is to keep doing it and setting the wrong expectation can stop that.Well I rowed for the first time this morning, had tinkered with it the day before yesterday just attempting to work and form, and rhythm. I was a bit disappointed at 12 minutes I was pretty tired and had worked up a good sweat. I will make the next goal 15 minutes. I am basically just doing a slow, steady row nothing fancy. Once I get to 20 minutes using this method I will work on tempo.
I want to get to 15 minutes next and when I feel like I am very comfortable at 15 move onto 20 with a bit of a struggle. I watched some youtube videos and the instructor said for beginners. If you get tired early on to stop the lower body motion temporarily but keep pulling with your upper torso and arms until you get some wind back.I'd say if you were tired and worked up a sweat then you met your goal. Of course setting the right expectation fixes that but the right expectation is difficult at first until you hit a certain level of fitness.
You might find that 12 minutes yesterday is harder today. Don't be discouraged or push yourself (now)I want to get to 15 minutes next and when I feel like I am very comfortable at 15 move onto 20 with a bit of a struggle. I plan on taking this slow and easy, 20 years ago at 40 I was in great shape at 60 I still look great but got more gut and weight than I want. I figure if it took 20 years to put it on a year or two taking it off is reasonable
Is your machine able to change the resistance?Well I rowed for the first time this morning, had tinkered with it the day before yesterday just attempting to work and form, and rhythm. Lactic acid buildup...You might find that 12 minutes yesterday is harder today. Don't be discouraged or push yourself (now)
Do what you can today and consider staying the course until your body adapts to this new exercise.
When I was swimming for exercise, I added 1 lap per day and it was soon enough that I got to a mile a day.
That 2nd day was a bitch though......
at 60 I still look great but got more gut and weight than I want.
Yes 12 settingsIs your machine able to change the resistance?
