You guys put too much weight into what these writers write about. They do not work in the NFL. they are not coaches or scouts. those are the people that are paying Sam the money not writers. Again it's a two way street... The contract benefit Sam too. If he has a decent to good year this year the Eagles will almost have to give him an extension or risk losing him to FA the year after. And that will be serious money.

It's a two-way street boys. If Sam has no NFL value to other teams like you guys say then why didnt the Eagles let him make it to free agency? Nobody would've signed him.... and they could've gave him back up money. not $22 million guaranteed?

Its simple, the Eagles were afraid of being left with no one on their roster at QB, so they overpaid. Again, if Sam was SO confident, you wait until the start of free agency... He didn't, Why? because they found a sucker who would pay him more than anyone else would dream of.

If your organization had a hard cap, would you take less to get good people around you for team support?

Even in light of your competitors, with the same hard cap, paying your counter part at their organization a much higher salary than you?​

(I know this doesn't really apply to SB, but it does with others such as Jenkins. Sometimes I forget that this thread is dedicated to SB. )

Not sure what his has to do with my post whatsoever. Bradford is a free agent, as are many other QB options that will be much cheaper and will also result in a non-championship season (and quite possibly a non-playoff season). If you aren't willing to consider Bradford as your QB for more than 2 years (and he still has to prove something after 6 years as a starter in the league?), that money is better spent building the rest of the team around a QB of the future and a cheaper place-holder.

As far as Jenkins, he's me-first all the way. When they tweeted that group concept (as if all of them would come back as a package deal), I thought he was going to be more reasonable in his demands. Apparently that "all-for-one" only works if he gets his max, lol.

See you say the Eagles are a sucker but the truth is someone else would've paid him on the open market. They have Mark Sanchez on the roster. Who is better than anyone on the Rams roster. That's always your excuse no one would dare pay him. But he always seems to get paid? First it was dumb Fisher then Chip now Pederson? NFL people seem to disagree with you on Sams ablity.

Doesn't have to be in the first round. They have two years to get the prospect ready. If they wanted Bradford longer, they would've given him a longer contract.

Here's what will be the biggest problem for Sam(and his fans)...There are no more excuses!!! New coach, new offense, new players, bad line, doesn't matter. He HAS to produce from game one on NO MATTER WHAT. That's something he has NEVER been able to do. When you're getting paid 18 mil, you have to produce, any other circumstances don't matter.

I don't need to...If he was so "in demand" he would've waited until free agency and hammered out a long term deal with a team. He didn't, he signed a glorified one year make it or get lost deal. That's NOT a good sign of what was out there waiting for him...Even if he then wanted to go back to Philly after talking to other teams, he could've. But again, he didn't...
