Yep, the Lakers not named James are really beginning to contribute in a significant way and if get more scoring, a trade is not necessarily needed.

They need to make a trade because next season we will have 35-40 million in cap space but 10 roster spots to fill. That isn't getting you much.

Since they got healthy....Bryant and Schroder have been huuuuuuge additions.

And Westbrook seemingly playing with more efficiency and acceptance of his role.
And the the reasonable belief that AD and Lebron will be healthy for the playoffs...
I think the Laker need to approach the trade deadline as if they will be making the playoffs with an outside but real chance to make the finals.
You don't waste a healthy AD & LeBron.

Lakers win by 2 over the Kings and the so-called role players are now playing as everyone envisioned them to be playing. Lakers have gone 6-4 over the last 10, Bryant, Schrooder, Reaves, Christie, Nunn, Gabriel, the newbi Brown and even Beverely on occasion have all played very well. Bryant has been great at the five and he maybe a def keeper in the future. Nice substitute for AD.

Thomas Bryant has been exactly what the Lakers have needed

No one can replace Anthony Davis, but Lakers center Thomas Bryant has been doing everything he can do to try, and he's been succeeding.

Unfortunately, Jones is on a two year deal. He needs to be a throw in on a potential trade. Jones/JTA and 2 seconds for Reddish maybe?

Lakers need to find a way to keep their solid producers on the team from year to year. This several month period where everyone gets comfortable in their new roles with their new teammates is painful

Trade Bev/Nunn for a key piece (Bog? Beasley? Richardson/Poeltl?) and Jones/JTA/2 seconds for Reddish, try to budget what they will need to retain at least Walker and Bryant (if not Schroder too), then decide what to do with Russ.

@shopson67 posted this in main NBA thread....not sure how realistic it is but it totally remakes our team and adds wings and shooting. Think Utah and Det both get a 1st rounder. Might have to send a 2nd to Utah and NY.
