It is a tiny detail if it doesn't mean a damn thing. Who cares if she was an ADA from Nebraska or a damn nurse from New Orleans. No matter what her backstory is, it has NO effect on her whatsoever. It literally makes no difference, so who cares?

You are making a big deal out of nothing. Who cares if it's a dog or a tester or a metal detector type machine or a blood test? It makes NO difference on the storyline. I think you need to stop being a Karen.

Or, better yet, stop watching. Noone is making you sit through this poorly written show with scenes with dogs and an unrealistic career choice for 1 character.

well the big information is Ellie and Joel's pasts. Maria feeds into Joel's some...but she is just a side character (NPC, if you will) and is in a single episode. What she did for a living 20 yrs ago makes absolutely no impact on the story.

I already know what happens. I played the game.

In the final episode we will finally get some closure on the whole "will-they-won't-they" dynamic between Joel and Ellie.

Maybe next week when they go fuck around in a mall for some reason.

I was kinda hoping Ellie would take the dog out with her knife before it got a chance to sniff anything.

my biggest criticism is that they seem to be moving pretty quickly across the country...it just feels rushed all around and I am kind of losing interest.

If they follow the story of Maria from the story yeah, it won't affect anything. But they've already changed the character so who knows.

One good change they made was Joel's injury. In the game he falls like 10 feet down, gets impaled, and somehow lives.
