Ah you guys found each other.. just like Bill and frank. :thumb:
Bad reviews of gay fan fiction don't fly around here dawg.

It's like, I gave a bad review to "Leather Butthole Daddies 4" on IMDB as well. Not because it was gay porno, but because the camera man focused in too much on one guy's asshole and not his beautiful hot cock.

Bad camera work can ruin a good porno just like mediocre, cliche writing can make an unnecessary adaptation of a okay video game story still mediocre.

I kind of wonder where we'd be with the story had we not had episode 3 though. I didn't finish the game because I genuinely don't have time to fuck around with having one roll of ducktape, a number two pencil, a rusty 9 mm and 3 bullets and be expected to kill an entire room of zombies...but from what I have gathered the story is zooming along at a quick pace.

Recommend NOT playing ‘Metro: Last Light”, then. All that complication, PLUS having to find gas mask cartridges every 20 seconds so you can breathe. I quit that one.

And another important question: Is it “ducktape” or “duct tape”?

To be fair there is a brand called "ducktape" but yes it is duct tape

Eh okay episode... was rush a little bit...

All said Bella Ramsey has nailed the role of Ellie and really overall impressed me.

I’m trying to look at this from a non-game player perspective. As one who DID play, to basically go from Pittsburgh (Kansas City) to finding Tommy in Wyoming to the med center in Colorado all in one episode seems like a breakneck pace, but I guess when you aren’t worrying about sneaking around and shiving clickers and such, they’re doing fine in keeping it moving and to the point.

Looks like next episode is Ellie’s backstory. I think it’s in a DLC in the game, but I never played it.

You are correct, it looks like the Left Behind DLC to me.

It looks like it will be. The DLC was built around flashbacks when Ellie was caring for a hurt Joel. So now is the time.

Part of me thinks its going too fast which I laugh at myself for because often I think shows go too slow. I'm surprised they didn't do 10 episodes at least.

This show is a hoot. Just got caught up.

The fungus sniffing dog? Lol. Apparently that doesn't work. And for no reason too. That, or this particular dog had Covid.

Why is the dog even needed for this though? If you have two people at gun point and the fungus can only be spread by bites (dumb change) then you can just visually inspect them. Take their clothes off and look. You don't need a dog. They're all stupid AF.

Gotta say though, my favorite part was Tommy's baby momma. She's young enough to be pregnant so she's maybe 40 tops. But she was an assistant DA in Omaha 20 years ago.

One of the many 20 year old black assistant DAs in Nebraska in 2003. Oh, and she was a mom then too guys. What a boss. Jesus Christ.

This show has some great visuals but the writing is just brainless.

She's surprisingly not the problem with the show. The acting is solid.

Metro was such a good game that would be an awesome HBO adaption. I enjoyed the challenge of needing to keep track of your oxygen when exploring creepy areas.

Why are you reading so deeply into the tiniest details of the character's backstory? It's not like it ruins the storyline or anything. You're assuming the character's age just to find something wrong with how young she was when she was an ADA. Like come on dude, at this point, you're just looking for something to complain about.

And with the dog, it was written to show that she was bit, didn't turn and there are no signs of her turning whatsoever, so it adds the level of undetectability to the character.

Tiniest details? That's literally her entire backstory at this point brah. That's all we know about her. And none of it makes sense. It's actually comical how stupid it is. We can all admit that right?

It's easily fixable too, but the writers are bad or just can't be bothered to write anything that holds up to the simplest scrutiny. More and more this show seems to be written for stupid people, by stupid people, and about stupid people.

Cool. It still makes no sense. If the fungus were spread by spores, a dog could make sense as a detection mechanism. Anybody could be infected and not know it. But the writers changed how the fungus works. Now it only spreads via a bite. So that being the case, why would they not just go with visual inspection? The bites are gnarly as fuck from what we've already seen. They'd be easy to point out. It's just another instance of the writers making a fundamental change to the story and then ignoring it completely later.

All they had to do was give those dudes a portable tester. We know that exists, and we know it works. They test Ellie with a portable tester and then it's all the same tension. The tester beeps and we don't know if it's positive or negative until Joel looks over. Same information conveyed.

But nah, gotta get that cute dog licking the little girls face because the show is written for stupid people. Yay! Doggy!

it also makes absolutely no difference whatsoever what her backstory is.

I agree that it is a very young age for that job...not sure why they went with that.

Was kinda hoping the dog would bite her in her weird face.

Maybe next week when they go fuck around in a mall for some reason.

It is a tiny detail if it doesn't mean a damn thing. Who cares if she was an ADA from Nebraska or a damn nurse from New Orleans. No matter what her backstory is, it has NO effect on her whatsoever. It literally makes no difference, so who cares?

You are making a big deal out of nothing. Who cares if it's a dog or a tester or a metal detector type machine or a blood test? It makes NO difference on the storyline. I think you need to stop being a Karen.

Or, better yet, stop watching. Noone is making you sit through this poorly written show with scenes with dogs and an unrealistic career choice for 1 character.
