Just watched Boss Level. It's a fine hour and a half movie where you can turn your brain off and enjoy it. But it's not something I feel like you'd need to watch again. Also, Naomi Watts is still hot at 50+ years old.

I saw that when it was first released. Fun movie. Not award winning, of course. Apparently Grillo has been trying to get it made for something like 15 years.

I believe him and Joe Carnahan both if I remember properly.
Not sure if this is the right comparison to make but it’s like if Groundhog Day and Crank (except not nearly that crazy) were combined.

Edge of Tomorrow is a better comparison, imho. But yours works.

Ben Affleck plays a high-functioning austistic accountant with armed and unarmed combat training, thanks to his military father. A good premise with some good ideas, but falls flat at the end. Enjoyable.

it would have worked much better as a pilot for a series than a stand alone movie, imho.

But I rather enjoyed it. Just a fun movie. Not award-worthy or anything like that.

I watched Homefront on Netflix last weekend. Gave it a B but some good action scenes. Jason Stathom, James Franco and Wynonna Ryder were in it. Also watched Wind River with Jeremy Renner and Elizabeth Olson which was better than Homefront.

Yup apparently they plan to do two more.

Exploring the brothers relationship. I think getting Bernthal more involved would only help the chances of it being better

Promising Young Woman. This one gets my vote for best picture 2021.. very entertaining... at least the 3rd or 4th nominee I've preferred to the winner. Provocative themes, great performances & dialog and I loved the ending, which apparently has received mixed reviews. 9/10

I just watched this movie. I enjoyed how it played out.

It's a date-r*pe revenge fantasy thriller. Carey Mulligan plays an ex-med student whose best friend was raped in med school and the aftermath did not go well for her friend after she reported it, suffice to say. That's the backstory. So she now baits guys into attempting to date r*pe her by pretending to be falling down drunk. Then if they do, she snaps out of it and confronts them with their behavior. It explores the issue from multiple perspectives. I'd recommend it without qualification. Agree, disagree or completely confused about the overall POV & messages intended, it made me think and was very entertaining.

Im surprised at the idea of it being entertaining. It sounds like more of a metoo reverse Deathproof.

Im surprised at the idea of it being entertaining. It sounds like more of a metoo reverse Deathproof.

There's a lot of dark & cutting humor. It's the first feature film for the woman who wrote and directed it, Emerald Fennell. She's English fwiw and was the show runner and wrote several episodes for the series Killing Eve if you're familiar with that. The script and dialog are terrific.. in fact it won a well-deserved best original screenplay oscar.

Watched "AN Unfinished Life" with Lil Ms Cyder this weekend. Usually anything with Jennifer Lopez I avoid but Morgan Freeman, Robert Redford and Damian Lewis were in it so I gave it a shot. I was pleasantly surprised although you need to suspend disbelief here and there.
