Just watched The Wrath of Man. It had Jason Statham starring in it and Guy Ritchie directing it. It was much better than I was anticipating as I am not the biggest fan of Guy Ritchie's work for the most part. It's worth checking out as a rental or streaming somewhere if you have a couple of hours to watch something.

The Little Things. Denzel & Rami Malek as cops looking for a serial killer. Jared Leto is their prime suspect. Denzel was decent, but he generally is. This movie is crap, though. Don't bother.

Rewatched Argo last night. Very good story that stayed relatively true to what really happened. Of course, Hollywood spiced it up a bit but still well done IMO

Watched “Stand up Guys”. Two big stars (Pacino and Walken) couldn’t save this movie. When it comes to rating movies I’m pretty generous. As long as it’s entertaining I will give a decent rating. This movie was terrible. I give 3/10 that’s only bc these big stars were in it. Terrible plot. Slow moving. Dumb ending

Not what you'd call a fan of these guys. Nothing against them. Just never was all in on them.

But this Bluray is quite stunning. Initial B&W, brief Arizona colour, then back to B&W. I play it twice a year when weather is warm and I can view outside through open windows and around Xmas when I'm inside.

Can't say there is a shit song on it and the production and audio quality is extremely good. I love Bullet the Blue Sky and the gospel song.

The Courier (2021)

The story of a British businessman who works with MI6 and the American government to retrieve classified documents from a traitor in the USSR. Based on the true events I wasn’t aware of. It’s a nice, tight movie. If you liked Bridge Of Spies, you’ll like this. Benedict Cumberbatch.

Free Guy. On a whim went to an actual movie theater for the first time in 2+ years today. Theater was almost empty, less than 10 people, loved that.

Movie was fine. Idk 5 or 6 or 7/10. I'm bad at rating movies on quality. Ryan Reynolds did Ryan Reynolds things, and there was a climactic final fight where production asked Disney "So you own our production company now, are you cool with us using some of your cool intellectual property stuff in this movie that you now own?" To which Disney said: "Yes." That was a cool moment.

All in all, I don't regret watching it, but the past few years not going to a movie in person left me with a sad feeling watching it and something cool happening and I'm like "Okay now go back 10 seconds so I can rewatch that and...shit I can't do that here."

Not a movie but a documentary titled “Untold: Crimes & Penalties”. Absolutely unbelievable. Easily 10 out of 10. Think of Sopranos meets Slapshot the movie except it’s all real. It’s a must see on Netflix

I liked Bridge of Spies quite a bit. I'll have to check this out.

Worth

Outstanding performance by Michael Keaton as Ken Fienburg, the Special Master of the 9/11 Victims Fund. How gonizing is it was to deal with some people and how dangerous to deal with their anger.

I had tears in my eyes at least five times listening to the people who had taped phone calls and messages from those trapped inside the towers.

One mother was crying and said, "Just find me a fingernail". The stories behind what we know are heart wrenching.

Free on Netflix. Worth every minute of your time.

Dazed & Confused (1993)

An overrated romp. I’m glad I finally saw it but I wouldn’t care to watch it again.

Watched "News of the World" with Tom Hanks last night. It was far better than I expected. Hanks was great in a western. Definitely worth the watch.

watched an interesting "oldie" last night:

Nazi Agent (1942)

Shortly after America enters WWII, we encounter a pair of German-born twins. One is a member of the German military, the other an American citizen. They get in an argument that escalates, with the American killing his twin. He then spends the rest of the movie impersonating his brother.

I should check this one out. A contemporary take on the WWII movie genre. Could be interesting.
