Watched Gods of Egypt yesterday. Wasn't as bad as I had heard but still not a movie I'll likely ever watch again.

Last week I watched Death Race 2050 and that has to be one of the worst movies that I have ever seen. I'm sure that they were going for a B movie feel but wow did it just fall flat on every level. Malcolm McDowell must really be desperate for money.

M Night Shamalamadingdong is back! Movie wouldn't have worked without James McAvoy though. Phenomenal performance. Not M Night's best work, but it was damn good.

Funny you should post that, just finished up watching Deep Horizon, another true story movie with Marky Mark in it. It was pretty good to.

I loved 6th Sence, Unbreakable and Signs, but everything else he has touched has been horrible. While this looks good, I will not give it a chance unless the reviews are over-the-top amazing.

Wasn't a fan of the Sixth Sense and don't remember much about Unbreakable. I did like Signs. I did like the Village until the twist endings and after that, I've been done with him. Like you, I might watch it when it comes out on DVD if I hear enough good things about it.

Also worth noting... I agree that aside from Signs, 6th Sense & Unbreakable, the rest of M Night's works are merely 1-time views & nothing to write home about.

There's so much garbage getting released, I'm starting to depend on reviews from SportsHoopla. Now I'm starting to wonder if some of the reviews in here are dependable. I don't have actors that I'm so in love with that just watching them breathe gets a 9.5/10. What I've started doing is making a list of films that get a good rating with a couple of caveats. Then when the price drops below $10 on E-Bay, I buy it. Every 3 or 4 months, the ones I can't or won't watch a second time get donated to Good Will. (tax deduction)

I call him M Knight Charlatan myself. Never liked many of his for some reason.

I figured 6th Sense out sort of early and I liked Unbreakable.

The Village was shite.

Top Gun

8/10

I know, I concur. Came out in 1986? Vancouver had Expo '86 going on.

It was playing at the Stanley, big screen, can't recall the formats of film then but it was bigger than normal, 90 MM? Regardless, the line up was around the block twice and I bailed. Never saw it in a theater.

But I rented it. In every format, every time I upgraded a key component.

I remember buying a 27" Sony XBR in the late 80's. It had something called SRS sound. And it affected output to the audio system attached. It was a wow moment.

I own the BluRay now and the video and audio delivery systems have vastly improved but I'll still stick with it for a spell if I surf through it.

It's a guilty pleasure..... Sometimes I feel the need, the need for speed.....

The Village was shite.

Agreed here. One of the most unintentionally funny movies I have ever seen if in the proper frame of mind.

And the cast is top notch, even with Hurt and Weaver going through the motions.

Unbreakable>>>Split>>>Signs>>>6thsense>>>the rest er garbage

I agree with @FaCe-LeE-uS

The movie was pretty good, with a nice scene at the end to make you think. Some things didn't make sense, but overall the movie was good with some great acting by the lead actor.
