Fox Tango Charlie. Pretty good. A good view on Afghanistan when it was the forgotten war and how female correspondents had to navigate such a rough place.

My only criticism is that while the character played by Margot Robbie talked a lot about "fvcking" there were no follow through. Very disappointing.

I sort of stopped halfway through. Not a Fey fan...

50 Shades of Grey....wow. Terrible. Not grasping what all the fuss was about. Book must have been better than the movie.

Reputation was that the book sucked swollen blue whale nuts. Dunno why anyone would think the movie would be good.

It's un-dangerous, paint by the numbers VERY soft-core **** for women.

Kind of like Maxim Magazine for guys.

The Intern

Totally surprised at how much I liked this movie. It wasn't a chick flick, like I kinda expected. While it was a bit sappy and slightly Hollywood formulaic, it still had a lot of heart and both De Niro and Hathaway actually did a very good job.

Suicide Squad (2016)

Awful. Glad I didn't pay to see it. Much more of the same from the DC universe... Congested plot with too much going on (just like BvS). Deadshot was cool, but the rest of the characters were garbage. Harley Quinn was a plus only because sex sells. Jared Leto as the joker was a laughable mistake. Credit to the producers who media pumped the shit out of this garbage because they still set the August opening record. A lot of people got duped.

5/10

I'd be interested in a Deadshot solo movie. Could be pretty epic if they did it right.

Watching Troy now. I love these movies. Troy, Gladiator, Spartacus, 300, Ben Hur, etc.

X-Men Apocalypse (2016)

Had some decent potential but there's just something about the casting that doesn't work for me. Aside from Michael Fassbender, I don't think there is a single actor that is casted for the right role. But I don't think the writers for these movies really care much for the drama anyways. The movie was much like "The Next Generation" but I thought the plot was better. Decent amounts of action and good cgi. Nothing really that exciting.

Nah, I'll have to try it. What channel and what night(s)?
The show ended back in 2013. It ran for 4 seasons (3 lineage, 1 prequel). It was on the Starz channel. I'd recommend starting with Spartacus: Blood and Sand. The 2nd season (Gods of the Arena) was a prequel season set before Blood & Sand, but I'd recommend skipping it and finishing 'Vengeance' & 'War of the Damned'.

Completely disagree. The prequel season was very good. The 2 seasons with the new actor were OK at best.

IMHO, watch S2 (the prequal) first, then watch S1. If you like the show (you should), watch S3 and move forward based on your own judgement.

Blood & Sand was by far and away the best season. I only said to skip the prequel because I liked that one to be watched first.

But if he did want to include the prequel, then by all means watch it first. It was pretty good. But I don't recall it being better than the others. Vengeance & War of Damned were good. The recast for Spartacus was a bummer, but they had to do it. Took a few episodes to get used to it.

I watched Criminal yesterday. Thought it was pretty boring and Costner sucks. Gal Gadot is perfect though, so that helped a bit.

I understand the recast was required, and agree that it was a total bummer. That is also why they did a prequal for S2 instead of just moving forward with the story. They wanted to give him time to deal with the situation. When he died, that was when they recast and moved forward.

Knowing the story behind the recast, I 100% forgive it. I usually HATE recasts, but sometimes there is simply no avoiding it.
