If Stamkos wins that Hart, I'll eat my hat. For one: Timmy Thomas, all day. After that, Martin St. Louis isn't any less impressive in Tampa Bay than Stamkos. Same thing will hold back the big three in Vancouver.

With the way that the parity in the league is these days, we're routinely going to see 5+ guys who could legitimately make an argument for the Hart. It's not going to be like the old days where Hasek or Jagr dragged teams around on their backs.

Sure, Stamkos has St. Louis... and Crosby has Malkin, the defense, and MAF... and Datsyuk has Zetterberg, Lidstrom, and depth galore. But Thomas has Chara, a great defense, and good two way forwards like Bergeron and Krejci.

Thomas disappeared off the face of the earth last year on almost the exact same Bruins team, and they didn't skip a beat. Rask is a great goalie too, of course, but I don't think the Bruins success is contingent on Thomas. He's putting up disgusting numbers, and if he doesn't win the Vezina I will consider eating some of my smaller apparel (although some other guys like Rinne are having nice years too), but it's far from a lock at this point.
