4th? Damn it. I didn't even know they had released a third yet. I figured it just got cancelled. They suck at promoting

I wonder what direction it will take. Uhtred kinda ended the story but the writers have been really good at building on the story every season.

Cornwell just had the latest books in the series come out in 2018, War of the Wolf.

And the previous book was 2016.

I'm not certain when the last season was made but at the very least, it will encompass War of the Wolf.

I've read them all and watched them all (now that I do Netflix).

They are same time period. Just different Vikings.

I like Cornwell as an author and having read all his books, I feel more in touch with this series than The Vikings.

And it seems less flashy to me.

I just wish Uhtred was bigger. In the books he isn't Steapa big, but he's bigger than most everybody else.

I don't expect Dave Bautista size but he really isn't that imposing.

Just binged over the weekend.
What a great show.
The writing, in particular, really drives this show with a blend of politics, religion, and war.

From the 1st episode, there have been the typical revenge, kidnapping, redemption storylines, but Uthred's uncle has been a villain from the very beginning, yet they have not met since that episode. Not sure if Season 4 will go there, but there are always underlying plots and stories within stories occurring.

Very well done with high quality violent battle scenes.

Highly recommend.

I'm all caught up with the show through season 4. The season ending was pretty disappointing. Makes me not really care about future episodes, assuming they plan on a season 5. Just no where to really go now.

Ultimately that time period is all about fully uniting England and the wrinkle is the mostly fictional Uhtred and how he plays into the whole thing. I suspect in this season or next he goes back for his homeland. Which is part of Northumbria...which is the Last Kingdom

The series has finished up, with rumors of potential movies to cover the remaining books.

Would recommend to anyone that enjoyed Vikings or GoT.
