New show that debuted on BBC America this past Saturday. I DVR'd it and it looks like its gonna be pretty darn good. It takes place in 9th century AD England as Danish Vikings are invading the country. Did some digging and its based on a best selling book series, The Saxon Stories.

Pretty good... Reminds me a lot of Vikings... And that's a good thing since Vikings is a very good show...

Bumping this because more people need to watch. This is a really solid show. It's like Vikings but with better writing and acting and its also more historically accurate (though the tale itself is fiction). Only 4 episodes in so far so there's plenty of time to catch up

I'm watching this on Netflix right now.

It's pretty solid, but they throw a lot at you early. I'm on episode 4 and can't get through more than 1/night.

Epi 1 battle scene was good-not anywhere near battle of the bastards but good nonetheless.

There's a battle in the final episode (or maybe just before it) that rivals Battle of the Bastards imo. I'd say it's the most historically accurate formation battle depiction I've seen on TV and they did it on a fraction of the budget GoT has.

I read the show was picked up for a 2nd season but the bummer part is its not coming out till 2017 I think

I'll never get used to the wait 18-24 months for a new season crap.

Ok that was pretty badass. New Jon Snow offs the King of the Danes in front of his men. Is fucked but the Wessex army has perfect timing.

It will be interesting to see how this goes. The main antagonist just died and history tells us the secondary antagonist turns to Christianity Plus Ivar dies off screen with only a mention so no crazy Viking cripple.

Yeah that was a pretty badass one on one battle. Also, fuck Odda the Younger

The battle scene is salty.
The British had a lot of horses so I expected it to be similar to BOTB-two armies fighting a shield war until the calvary flanks and ends it.

Instead it was a stalemate until Uhtrid pulled a Jon Snow and the route was on.

I'm glad they announced a season two. The revenge subplot was mentioned but essentially abandoned during the series. Aside from that this one really wrapped up pretty well in the finale. I will love to see a second season, but as a miniseries the first one would stand alone.

March 23rd on BBC. Not sure when it goes to Netflix

Does that count the same as BBC America? Sometimes you only have to wait a week (like for Top Gear). Other series it could be weeks

Netflix has shown some great shows. This being one of them. I also Like Marco Polo. The Medeci is fun too.

Didn't realize BBC America dropped the show (stupid on their part) and I just found it on Netflix a few days ago. I'm only 4 eps into the 2nd season but they are moving fast. It's good but its almost too fast. It's sort of hard to keep track of all the moving parts.
