Who the hell has the space as well as the assets to trade for him?

I would say the Kings in a Cousins swap, but with Gay already at the SF, I don't see this as a possibility.

They could play Melo at PF, which he kinda already is at this point, and have Cauley Stein play center.

Melo gets a bad rap, imo. Dude is one of the best players in the league. He's been on a bunch of bad teams. I mean, he had a chance to change that in free agency, so that's on him, but he's a great player.

Melo's style of play is not conducive to today's NBA game. 15-20 years ago, he would have been dominant and a sure fire Hall of Fame player. Now, he's seen as a ball stopper in an evolving NBA game that thrives off ball movement. He still can be a great player, but in order for him to be one, he'll need the offense to be catered to him. He's still a great scorer. He's a plus player in the block because of his size and strength. He's got range. He's got a good handle. The only problem is he needs 8-10 seconds with the ball in his hands for him to decide what he wants to do. That supremely limits what a team can do in the half court.

This is also why Kobe has caught so much flak in the last 2-3 years, versus the first part of his career. He's the exact same player he was 14 years ago in terms of his style of play. It's the style of play the NBA has adopted that puts more importance on things, other than scoring.

I love reporters..."getting closer to engaging in trade talks". So, there aren't any trade talks happening.

They won't trade Melo this season. They need him to sell tickets.

I don't think you've been paying attention to the Kings over the last several years.
Trust me I've payed plenty of attention to the Kings, and they've done some very stupid things. But trading a top 10-15 player that's only 25 years old for Melo would top all of those stupid decisions and I don't think even they would do that.

Okay Lakers fans - We need to unite and pray hard that the Lakers are not the stupid schmucks to take that dumb cluck

I'd trade Kobe for Melo in a heartbeat, he has more game left than Kobe....

Not sure if I'm serious or not....

Melo is too old and he is a ball hog - We are done with Kobe this summer and free to go after younger and more athletic players. I don't see any common sense in alienating Kobe with an insulting trade for Carmelo - that would be a bad trade
