I used to hit the city after midnight when working during college.....The Slaughtered Lamb is where the Peculiar Pub used to be before they moved to Bleecker St.....We would hit that Greek place Karavas which was on West 4th for a drunken gyro sandwich before heading home....Good times....

I used to have a copy of "The Good Beer Guide to NY," it became horribly outdated within a year of publishing. Places would pop up and disappear in 6 months. I'd read a blurb about a really cool place with a great beer list, and by the time i went to check it out they had already changed the name and the listings.

There used to be a ton of great places down 3rd avenue.

Not only are they overrarted, they are possibly the worst known sound in the past, present and future of the Multiverse.

People listing most of these bands as being "overrated" is a laugher...imho.
It would be more credible if they'd just admit, that to them, many of those bands are basically misunderstood..and also in most cases disliked for whatever reason.

I don't think Steely Dan is overrated at all. I've never heard of them referred to as one of the best.

They were a nerdy band.

REAL classic rock - The Who, Zep, Floyd, Beatles, Sabbath, Boston, Zappa, Stones, Eagles, etc.

Lucky you* I didn't get to go to concerts until I was in High School, so my first Concert was Springsteen, Born in the USA in '85

* -Maybe, I heard that live was sometimes bad because Morrison was often way too drunk.
