The Doors had a handful of really great songs, but most of their album tracks were trash. At least the ones I've heard.
Very, very few bands if any made great songs every time. Most never made a great song.

Some bands were constantly turning out great songs, whether they were top 40 singles or album tracks: Credence Clearwater Revival, the Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, the later incarnation(s) of Fleetwood Mac.
I liked pretty much every Eagle song on their first three albums. Some of their tracks that didn't get worn out on the radio were actually better than the ones that were worn out (Outlaw Man, Duelin Dalton, Ol 55).Very, very few bands if any made great songs every time. I also liked just about every track on Marshall Tucker first three albums. The Caldwell brothers died way too young.
KISS is a given...too easy
Aerosmith
AC/DC
Bruce Springsteen, cuz even tho he's been mentioned, he deserves to be again
Van Halen
Leon Redbone. Definitely not overrated. Last seen singing a duet with Zooey Deschanel. Punches his time clock today at age 69. Well done, Leon. Safe journeys to the next existence.
I saw Leon open for Carlin back in the 80s and I loved him. He was having a couple of Rolling Rocks on the stage...
Yes they are.
I like both Joe Cocker and Stevie Ray Vaughn. All a matter of taste I suppose
REAL classic rock - The Who, Zep, Floyd, Beatles, Sabbath, Boston, Zappa, Stones, Eagles, etc.
Did I mention I loathe Joe Cocker too
