Yup. The Doors were still damn good, imo. Their "greatness" always been controversial because Morrison was pretentious as hell and some of their fans act as if he was some sort of deep thinker/poet. He wasn't.

The Doors had a handful of really great songs, but most of their album tracks were trash. At least the ones I've heard.

They threw in a few good songs with all the terrible ones.

KISS - from what I hear, they put on a great concert and great at name branding. But I am not a huge fan of their music.

Pink Floyd - It might be just me but I am not a huge fan of their music.

Bon Jovi - This pains me because I do like him, but he is kind of JV to other hair bands.

Elton John - I like his voice, but outside Rocket Man, I never really been a big fan of his music. Tiny Dancer is okay.

Journey - I am a fan of Steve Perry's voice but their music is timestamped. There are songs by a lot of classic rock artist that will have songs that will live in generation after generation. Journey's music screams 1980s.

Everything I've ever seen or read suggests the opposite. He wanted to be taken seriously as a writer, poet and thinker, but instead became a teen sex symbol and eventually a caricature of himself because of it.

His death and subsequent over-inflated icon status overshadowed the band, who were actually the real talent. Krieger and Manzarek were pretty good.

But it's drug music...sounds great on acid en sech

That sucks. I've seen him 4 or 5 times since 2001 and the shows were always great, particularly his band, who are as tight and clean as any band you'll ever hear. Dylan has always been a shitty singer, and that definitely got worse with age, particularly live.

He's a legend tho, and his story is fascinating to me. I have a soft spot for those who can't sing for shit, but somehow still find success and make it work.
