Yet they are 5th in the AL in overall OPS
meh, heavily inflated by low sample size bench play. mitchy 2 bags aint a 1.048 OPS guy, and i doubt kevin plaweski is.

Sure but Devers, Benny, and JD aren't .621, .393, and .720 guys either. Deflated by low sample size regular play.

Yeah, I'm not alarmed by the lineup's relatively meh performance so far. I expect most of those struggling regulars to hit better (though I also wouldn't expect Vazquez to maintain a 159 OPS+, Bogaerts is great but I don't expect him to finish with an OPS+ near 159 either)

If the Sox had a healthy Sale/Rodriguez, I thought they would have stood a decent chance at making this playoff. The rotation still wouldn't be good, but it's a hell of a lot better than depending on Weber/Perez/Hall/openers/whatever. The rotation is an absolute train wreck.

I think ownership may be the problem?

How does a team that has been as successful over the last 15 years go through so many different GMs?

10 straight
15-1 last 16
21-5 last 2 seasons

that’s what the Yankee backups have done to the Red Sox regulars

This is what happens when your best players go elsewhere.
and..and...they lose 3 starters (price, sale, eddie)

i say trade everything and start over

The problem with MLB is the number of good teams having a fire sale and disrespecting their fans.

The Red Sox Look Like Worst Team in AL East 2 Years After World Series Title

The Red Sox Look Like Worst Team in AL East 2 Years After World Series Title

It is the Dombrowski Effect ... to rebuild a quality organization takes time. The minor league coaches, scouts and player development personnel are so important to a team. Dombrowski did not seem to understand this. The good thing for the Red Sox is, Fenway Park will draw people because it's Fenway Park and the Yankee haters will always return.

Yes. I love that they are willing to spend. But their lack of vision is ridiculous

Isn’t this the Dombrowski M.O. ?

Aren’t the Tigers still climbing out of his mess?
