Maybe the Bears arent trading Fields?
We can never completely rule out Poles trading the #1 pick. Altho it's still relatively early in the free agency process, I've been wondering since he hasn't signed a key player at the two most crucial positions, WR & DE/Edge, if his intentions are to take a highly coveted player at each position in the draft. And the only way he can do that is if he trades the 1st pick.

the best way to drive up demand for that pick is to make everyone think it's untouchable. Hell he could be leaking "Fields isn't better than Darnold" if his intention was to keep Fields.

I think they take Williams but you never know.

Minshew isnt a starter imo.
He did pretty well in Indy last season....kept them in the hunt for a WC but I kind of agree with you.

They gave him backup money, 2 years and 15 mill guaranteed. 25 mill with incentives. They probably going to have Minshew and AOC compete for the starting position. They have very little money tied up in the QB position.

And it wouldn't be crazy to let Caleb sit and learn for a while from the bench. As hyped as he is? He could learn the offense first.

I think Daniels is more NFL ready than Caleb personally.

Very few qbs come in and dominate like Stroud did.

I think thats a horrible idea myself.......it would be different if JF was at the end of his career and we were looking for a replacement, but its not......
Its a case if we keep both and JF starts, from game one on,crowd is gonna be vhanting for Caleb,or vice,-versa.......
It will not help either one of them......
As Poles has came out and said he wants to do JF right, thats not doing him right.....

Deep down Im thinking we are trading tthe first pick.

Its one or the other that wont be a Bear next season........

Start him the first 5-7 games....he plays well with all the new additions....Caleb is learning from the sidelines. Say another QB goes down with a bad injury.....the Bears flip him for a 3rd, maybe even a 2nd if a team is really desperate?

Start Caleb. And he is better off having learned the offense before just being thrust out there week 1.

Right now you're looking at a 6th, maybe a 5th, during the draft for Fields.

And I think it's possible they trade the #1 pick also.

Just spitballing.

Stupidity knows no bounds. WR2 is somehow a crucial position. Or maybe this idiot meant we need another WR1.

Keenan…Allen.
I was wondring why you said his name until I just read that we traded for him:

Gave up one of our two 4ths, not sure which one. But in any event, we finally got our WR to pair with Moore....and then some!!! At 31 Allen is no spring chicken, but he's still hauling them in like a 25 year old. Take away '22 when he missed 7 games, since 2017, he's averaged 103 receptions for 1194 yards. That's some big time production. And considering he had one of his best seasons last year, it's safe to say he should be money this season as well. Great pickup!!!

Keep Fields and trade the #1 pick to restock your draft.

I can't say for sure what this trade means for their future plans with that pick
