I propose a ban on listening to anything the Twitters has to say until pre-season.

Just steer clear of guys with multiple "rr's" in their name (Rob Rossi, Hockeyy Insiderr)

Edit: Oh, almost forgot the dooshnozzle Eric Francis.

Beat writers sure, but the TSN guys like McKenzie should be ok.

Aaron Portzline

This could be an effective screening tool.

I think they become UFAs effective immediately, so they can sign with anyone once the NHL has processed the buyout.

THIS JUST IN: The Penguins have traded Sidney Crosby to the Flyers for Chris Pronger and a 2016 7th round draft pick. The Pens agreed to retain 50% of Crosby's salary and cap hit.

You can trust me; there's only one r in Vadered.

Heard that one before ... Which is why vinny for bobby lou was talked at the start of this year

Gonna be alot of pressure on aquilini now to buyout luongo

Oh to be a fly on the wall when Gillis and Aquilini have that conversation. I know Gillis wants to get an asset back, but aside from the Islanders, I can't think of any other team that wants that contract.

Gillis has already used gallagher to plant the seed publically that luongo was an aquilini signing (in terms of the back diving)

The Islanders DO NOT want Luongo's contract. I've said it before, Staple of Newsday said the Islanders would rather buyout Dipietro than take Luongo back in a trade.

I was just thinking of Wang and helping out the cap situation for the Isles (as in reaching the cap floor). Bobby Lou is exactly right (although probably not phrased the best way) when he says "His contract sucks!"

The Isles won't have a problem reaching the cap floor. Right now they're at 35M plus. They need to resign Hamonic, Bailey & Hickey. They need to sign or acquire a #1 goalie. Matt Donovan & Brock Nelson are virtual locks to make the opening night roster. If Nino isn't dealt he's likely to make the team as well. He's got a big cap hit. Something over 2M. Boyes isn't coming back. So they need to find somebody to take his spot. Nelson will take Reasoner's spot on the roster.

I don't see any problems reaching the cap floor for the Isles.

Fletcher is bribing doctors to clear Heatley.

So now that we've hit the opening window for buyouts, is there a time when it closes again?

say Heatley gets cleared to play at the beginning of the season. Can Minny buy him out then or will they have to wait til the end of the finals again and hope he's healthy. Which he wont be.
