So far loving it.

I lost it completely with BLT BBQ and LBGT foodstands, etc. LMAO..... I love how Amazon has taken this series and just flipped a GIANT ass middle finger to our PC/SJW dorks out there.

Interesting where they're going to take Butcher.... I will say Starr really does hold this whole thing together as Homelander. I can't remember a TV series (including everyone's beloved Breaking Bad) in my life where every moment he's on the screen you're just tensed up and completely unaware WTF is about to happen.... it's absolutely brilliant acting and he plays a narcissist so well it's frightening. I can't think of a film or TV series where someone plays on better... Maybe Amber Turd in her trial?

Pretty much any Ryan Reynolds movie...

Ryan Reynolds does it with a sense of comedy and 'har har attitude.' It's entertaining (at times) for sure and has a comedic element, but it's not how a narcissist would act at all. It's more sarcasm/witty humor playing off the skills/abilities he already has, whereas Homeland and Starr's character does NONE of that. It's actual believable narcissism. That's why his character and acting basically steals the show.

The violent aggression and emotional anger that would be relevant in a narcissist that is underappreciated in Reynold's role is gone. See the Amber Turd trial for a more real life example. Amber was visibly annoyed and pissed off and even lashing out during the trial.... Reynolds doesn't do that... he just makes funny one lines and little quips and everyone goes along with it.... Homelander/The Boys is FAR more in depth.

Reynolds is good, but his schtick gets old after a 1-2 hour movie.

Unbelievable how good Antony Starr is in this. Every time he's on camera it's such an uncomfortable, tense watch. They cast that role 100% perfectly.
