The Boys is based on the comic book series of the same title by Garth Ennis. If you're familiar with the comic series -- for that matter, if you're familiar with any of Garth Ennis's work like Preacher or his run on Punisher -- you'll know this is a dark, cynical, R-rated take on superheroes:

Yeah, this show looks very enjoyable. Evil, funny, gore....if there's a sex scene every other episode, it will be a hit with everyone.

I watched it..... I'm usually a fan of bad scifi but this was poorly written, poorly acted save for a couple of the characters and generally an interrupted flow of goblygook..... but the gore was awesome.....

Entertainment is subjective, and I am happy for ya..... I am typically not this harsh on something but to me, wow.... it was very badly done.... Butcher and Frenchy were good characters though.... the rest, to me, was a collection of "let's see how shock jock we can get without making sense"

I can see both ways. As I am so unfamiliar with this being a comic, I enjoyed it. If I were to watch it again I may see it more poorly. But I was entertained.
