In one of the biggest mismatches in NFL history, the Steel Curtain traveled to Tampa to face the terrible Bucs in their creamsicle uniforms, and it produced what will probably always be the largest NFL point spread of all time. Even as the line could have gone at least 10 points higher had the game been played at Pittsburgh, the Steelers had no problem covering. Outgaining Tampa by 280 total yards, and with the Bucs committing 4 turnovers, the Steelers cruised to an easy 42-0 victory that had Terry Bradshaw only throwing 8 passes.


Of the 10 highest points spreads in modern NFL history, the favorites have covered the spread just of 3 of 10 times making them 3-7 against the spread.

The Bills offense and defense is awful, but at least they've put 23 points on the board in two games. The Cards have only scored 6 points in 2 games. They visit Minnesota next month.

I'm thinking the Vikings could kneel every offensive play of that game and still win by double digits.

Vikings might enact the mercy rule against the Bills this week. I'm thinking 50+ on that sorry ass defense. And you know damn well that Bills Offense ain't scoring more than 10 points against them.

The Vikes D is horrendously overrated right now.

They had a really impressive stretch last year where Zimmer had everyone fooled. But the NFL caught up (thanks in large part sadly enough to Nick Foles).

Still a top 10 defense or so probably. But don't go thinking they are an elite defense. They can be gashed easily in the run game. And if you can protect, their back end doesn't hold up well.

Last year was a bit of an anomaly.

That said....it is the Bill's. They might not score a point....but they are in danger of that against every defense they play this year.

The Vikings have made a lot of stupid mistakes, such as:
- opening series, they had the Bills stopped. One defender had Allen wrapped up for a sack, but another came in and lowered his helmet getting a personal foul. Bills got a first down and later scored.
- ensuing kickoff, Vikings take a personal foul that puts them inside their 10.
- most recent series - Vikings had the Bills 2nd and goal from the 20, and somebody horsecollar tackles Allen for no reason giving the Bills another first down.
