My B1G Power Rankings after Week 9

1. Michigan (7-1, 5-0) - LW 1 - They are #1 in B1G for points allowed in both the seson and vs B1G. They are the only team to allow under 100 points vs B1G. Still over 30 points from allowing B1G opponents to score 100.
2. Ohio State (7-1, 4-1) - LW 3 - With Iowa loss, Ohio State bumps back to Top 2 after a week off. The Buckeyes are the highest scoring team in the B1G for the season and vs B1G. Michigan and Purdue have scored 1 point less vs B1
3. Michigan State (5-3, 3-2) - LW 6 - The Spartans have had a tough stretch in November, They lost to Northwestern and Michigan. But in their last 3 games, they beat Penn State and Purdue and lost at Michigan by 14 points in a weather delay game.
4. Penn State (6-2, 2-2) - LW 7 - Nittany Lions win vs Iowa was a good win for them. McSorley led PSU to a good win against Iowa. They are the 2nd highest scorer..
5. Northwestern (5-3, 5-1) - LW 9 - The Wildcats are now sitting on top of the B1G West after their 31-17 defeat to Wisconsin. They also found a way to stop Jonathan Taylor from rushing 100 yards.
6. Iowa (6-2, 3-2) - LW 2 - Last year, PSU pulled off a game-winning drive to defeat Iowa. This year, the Hawkeyes did not have that same magic as they fell short on their game-winning drive. Only Michigan has allowed less points this season.
7. Purdue (4-4, 3-2) - LW 4 - Purdue's 4-game winning streak ended with Michigan State's win against them. David Blough and Rondale Moore connection is one of he hottest in the B1G.
8. Wisconsin (5-3, 3-2) - LW 5 - The Badgers are 3-3 in their last 6 games, and two of the wins were against Nebraska and Illinois. Iowa game keeps getting further away. They lost by 25 to Michigan in the Big House and lost by 14 at Northwestern.
9. Maryland (5-3, 3-2) - LW 8 - Ever since their W vs Texas, the Terps have W, then L, then W, then L. So far, their B1G wins have come vs Minnesota, Rutgers, and Illinois. They have extablished that they are not bottom feeders, bu thaven't proved they can play with the big boys.
10. Nebraska (2-6, 1-4) - LW 10 - The Huskers got a dominating victory over BC. Not the BC in the ACC, but the BC in the FCS. They ended their really long losing streak to a 2-game winning streak and I can see them winning 3 out of 4 when they play Illinois NEXT weekend. They got Ohio State this week in the Buckeye's 1st game since they lost.
11. Minnesota (4-4, 1-4) - LW 12 - The Gopher's claim to fame this season could be they beat Fresno State and Indiana. Their win against Indiana came after a 4-game skid, all of which were by more than 2 TDs.
12. Indiana (4-5, 1-5) - LW 11 - Who would have thought that Hoosiers win vs FIU and Virginia might be decent wins? Especially since the only W Indiana is able to get so far in the B1G is against Rutgers.
13. Illinois (3-5, 1-4) - LW 13 - Illinois has lost 5 of their last 6 games. Can you guess who they beat?
14. Rutgers (1-6, 0-5) - LW 14 - 6-game losing steak. Only win is vs Texas State. Only team in B1G without a conference.

Do you mean MSU had a tough stretch in October?

lol, funny how 1 word (or in my case, I would have had a W) changes it so much.

Or I should say, they don't have the W, so I didn't give it to them.

Isn’t BJ getting paid a small fortune not to coach?

I believe so...but doesn't he also need to be actively seeking a head coaching job? I'm not sure?

That's probably why Butch would make such a statement of interest in Maryland... to make it appear like he's looking for a head coaching job at the moment.

:noidea:

I would normally come here and say that Delaney needs to revoke Maryland and Rutgers membership in the conference.

But looking back over the last 7 years or so, I shouldn't be throwing rocks in my Big Red glass house.

I'm still shocked that the B1G lowered their academic standards so much when they admitted NE.

What's worse? Lower academic standards or lower moral standards?

Amazingly enough, they wouldn't even be bottom 5 in the SEC.

At least you guys are actively trying to solve the problem. Maryland and Rutgers seem to continue to stumble backwards.

Rutgers seems stuck back in their 90s- pre schiano early 2000s awfulness

Maryland can at least resemble a football team every once in awhile

Are we still feeling pretty good about taking Rutgers over Syracuse?
